Infant abandonment does not become humane because we put a door, an alarm, and padding around it. These boxes facilitate abandonment without human interaction or protecting a child's interest in knowing where they came from—a human right recognized by the United Nations. 🥚
Baby Boxes are Barbaric. A Baby Is A Person, Not A Package. It's weird that we even have to say this, but “depositing” human infants into locked compartments inside walls is NOT OKAY. Even when padded, a box is still just a box. Compassionate options involve another human being who can offer support to mom and receive vital information. Babies are human beings. They deserve better than to be abandoned in any receptacle. AAOM logo

No child is “saved” by a system that protects adults and agencies while ignoring the rights of the child. Placing a child into a different family doesn't justify erasing their identity, and adoption can't be considered ethical care when a child’s humanity and rights are disregarded in the process.🥚

There is an upcoming Twice Lost Remembrance Day for adoptees and birthparents who have lost their other twice. If you or anyone you know are interested in joining this zoom on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 3pm PST/6pm EST. #adoptee 🥚 Here is the link to register: www.eventbrite.com/e/twice-lost...
Free Community Online Event: Twice Lost Remembrance Day Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 3pm PST/ 6pm EST

Join us for this sacred gathering recognizing the profound loss experienced when lost loved ones are found, or longed for, and then lost again. Some losses don't have a funeral. Some grief doesn't have a name.

Twice Lost Remembrance Day is a 90-minute online gathering created specifically for those who have experienced a particular kind of double loss — the loss of a relationship through adoption, foster care, donor conception, a DNA surprise, or any other form of genetic separation, and then the loss of that person to death.

This space is for the birthparent whose relinquished child has died. It is for the adoptee who searched for their biological family and found a grave instead of a person. For the person who discovered through a DNA test that they had a parent, sibling, or child they never knew and then lost the chance to ever truly know them. For the sibling who never got to grow up alongside their brother or sister and then lost the chance to ever know them at all. For the NPE who finally had a name, a face, a story only to have that door close forever. For those who carried a living absence for years, only to have that absence become permanent because of death.

Together, we will light candles, speak names, give language to a grief that our culture rarely makes room for, and be witnessed in our loss — perhaps for the very first time.

Handle @adopteescrossinglines appears at the top.Blue graphic explaining that surveillance does not always feel like punishment and can include schools calling CPS, hospitals flagging parents, social workers documenting parenting choices, or neighbors making reports. Text notes most of this happens without parents knowing. Handle @adopteescrossinglines appears at the top.Blue graphic stating that surveillance is not evenly distributed. Text explains that Black families, disabled parents, and poor families are watched more closely and that the same behavior may be labeled “stress” for some families and “risk” for others. Deadline for submitting a case to the Korean Truth and Reconcilliation Commission is 20 Feb. See details here (alt txt). There are also online info meetings today and tomorrow (bit late I know). Remember, you can also submit as a relative to a KAD. #adoption #SouthKorea #TRC 🥚
It is not only adoptees who can submit to the TRC3.

🔥 Children (DoKADs), spouses, birth parents, and adoptive parents can also submit the adopted person's (KAD) file to TRC3.

🔥 It is also beneficial for KADs who have found their birth family to submit their file. The TRC's primary objective is not to locate birth families but to find the correct information and documents —missing or falsified in our adoption files — that will shed light on and document how we were placed for adoption and any irregularities in the practices of adoption agencies and other institutions (e.g., orphanages, churches, police, etc.) in Korea (unfortunately, all cases investigated by TRC2 to date). But the investigation has also sometimes allowed some KADs to find their biological families.

🔥 Registration for those concerned who wish to submit to TRC3: email mailto:TRC3@danishkorean.dk

🔥 Application deadline: February 20, 2026. Only collect the adoption documents you have from your adoptive parents and/or the adoption agency in your country of adoption; do not attempt to obtain documents from Korea. The TRC3 Commission will handle this. Feel free to contact the KRG group in your country of adoption for more information.

🔥 Join us this Saturday, February 7, or Sunday, February 8 (several time slots available, but please check your time zone!) for an informational video conference with Peter Møller and Han Boonyoung, leaders of DKRG. With representatives from the various groups of the KRG global coalition, including French speakers to translate into French if needed!
