Scottish places in my books. Findo Gask is a tiny village, with Roman ruins. It's associated with the family of jacobite Laurence Oliphant. During WWII used by Polish Army. And there black truffles in the woods. My Findo is a goblin gangster lawyer who runs illegal trade using ley lines.

Writing the first draft of the third D-notice novel, and Cassie is travelling far in this one. All the way from Glasgow to Edinburgh and Rosslyn Chapel. It is Scottish and has dragons, so you know I'm going to have to add it.

The way indie music is seen as 'cool' and indie films are seen as 'embracing the craft without selling out' while indie books are seen as 'didn't get trad published' gives me feelings. Really crunchy feelings. The snobbery makes zero sense and instantly tells me someone isn't worth listening to.

In my writings, I try to include some interesting locations. The Coven Conference location is inspired by the Salutation Hotel in Perth. Bonnie Prince Charlie had his birthday party there in 1745. David Bowie and the Beatles played there in the 1960's.

I was at a kids science show, the presenter said science hasn't worked out what the purpose of emotional tears were. This got me thinking, surely its a signal to others that the one crying needs help. Could test this hypothesis by monitoring people seeing others cry. But then again humans....

I know self promotion is crass, but sometimes my mind amuses me. Like in my new book when Eros (yes that Eros) was remembering the time he got "Alloway arseholed" with Rabbie Burns and Tam O'Shanter. Eros version takes a very different take on the poem. The photo is Brig 'O' Doon. 😆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
