Pavement poem …

The cockatoo can
Teach us a thing or two
It squawks and talks
To its friends and
Never tries to make amends
For acting like some drunken hoon
It doesn’t care but
Chats to the empty air

For all of you worrying that AI will outsmart us, here is some comfort (probably short lived though).
I don’t know how to describe this - a map of Australia with a random mix of states mapped out. They are in the wrong place with the wrong boundaries and a few random US states thrown in. WA has obviously paid some protection money to get the exactly correct spelling and location on the map …

Happy thanksgiving to all my US friends. Here is another thing to be thankful about: you are not required to eat one of these weird looking turkey-adjacent fowls.
Funny-looking bird which looks like it is wearing a life jacket from and air-safety video and a badly chafed neck.

Well, here it is, the most scenic public toilet in Australia (apparently) - judge for yourself ! It's a great view, but surely there must be some strong competition out there. And how does this fare in the world rankings ?

It's halloween here in Australia and even though it is spring, bright and warm, we still like to celebrate. Especially the @underworldcode.org geodynamics team with our uw-bat logo and professor diablo at the helm. We were thinking to sneak to the @science.org.au shine dome to make some changes ...
The iconic Shine Dome in Canberra rendered as a pumpkin - it doesn't take much to turn a dome shaped building into a dome-shaped-pumpkin. This has to be one of the coolest places to cast a vote: Old Parliament House in Canberra at the Museum of Australian democracy in view of the new Parliament House in the hill and watched by the aboriginal tent embassy. Plus rewards!
Large white colonial style building with clear blue sky behind and people arriving to vote. Sausage queue to the left. “I voted” badge in pink with a building that seems to be served up as a taco and a pencil with “I voted at old Parliament House” printed on it.

A perfect mirror (or is it ?)
Early morning lagoon in blues and yellows. Trees are perfectly reflected but there is a tricky positioning effect that means some trees appear in the reflection that are not there in the picture itself.

How about a palm-oil free alternative (it costs ten times as much but it presents as French 🇫🇷)
A jar of “bonne maman” better-than-Nutella spread. Tastes better, has no palm oil and does not dry out as fast.

I found my electronics O-level project. It’s an )darkroom) enlarger timer. After a large number of decades in my childhood bedroom, I plugged it in once again and it works !! I just remember discovering the hard way how sensitive chips can be to static electricity (and how expensive they were).

Holiday puzzles not completed before the holiday ended. But the effect is quite interesting, and it’s much more difficult to solve a second puzzle on top of an earlier one. #cat
Jigsaw of a leopard- partially completed so that another jigsaw of an underwater scene shows through. This gives the impression of a ghostly, translucent cat.

If you run out of sausages when the kookaburra comes to call, you could throw one of these on the barbecue.
A caterpillar - it’s black, white and orange striped and also hairy. There is no scale but this thing is about the size of a half-smoked cigar. A caterpillar - it’s black, white and orange striped and also hairy. There is no scale but this thing is about the size of a half-smoked cigar.

Oyster knife - the end snapped off in action and the remnant hacked its way through my hand. The most painful part was the disinfectant but I suspect there is more pain on the way. The oysters were good though.
Thin bladed knife, the end of which has snapped off leaving a jagged and lethally sharp remnant. I have spared you the picture of the resulting carnage.

I’m pretty sure somebody switched my sunscreen for cheap fake tan. The smell-txt for the image would describe a strange, rusty aroma.
