Reach out to your people who love you (I’m sure there are many) and make sure they know you’re looking. Take time to have some coffee with them where the purpose is chatting about what you want in a job. Most resumes are tossed if they’re not submitted internally so it’s really who you know 😢

Between Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, I Want Your Sex, The Invite, and Coyote Vs Acme, this is an unbelievable year for theatrically released comedies. They’re all so different and I love them for it. Very inspiring.

It's always so galvanizing to get that dose of "Don't Dream It, Be It" injected right into me, from my eyes and ears straight into my heart. Frank is always there for me when I need him. So thank you, Tim. Frank will live forever in all of our hearts. You raised us right. Rest easy.

I go back to Rocky Horror every few years to attend a midnight show here in NYC. It's a way to check in and center myself. It is my church and one of my life's constants.

Instead, I was able to bring my middle school and high school friends into my Rocky Horror mania. And I know that even if they identified as straight as an arrow, they saw a little part of themselves in Dr. Frank N. Furter. He was a mirror.

I'm so grateful I'm not alone in feeling that way! Frank was that for millions of people around the world, and he'll continue to be. The Rocky Horror cult fandom made me feel less lonely during what could have been an isolating adolescence.

For me, this little awkward 12-year-old gay kid in Calgary, Alberta, watching Rocky Horror on his TV in his den, Frank N Furter was like a portal to my future: all of the pleasures and heartbreaks of being an adult wrapped up in the very queer need to express yourself and be heard.

I watched Linus O'Brien's excellent documentary Strange Journey: The Rocky Horror Story tonight, and his dad, Richard, said that Rocky doesn't belong to him anymore; it belongs to us. The same can be said about Frank. He hasn't belonged to Tim for a long time. Frank is inside all of us.

Some of my most formative memories as a performer came from my Rocky Horror shadow cast, "Rich Weirdos," in Vancouver, when I was in college. During those midnight shows, part of me wished I could climb inside that movie and live in that world. It was an adventurous, sexy place.

Tim was a vessel for something way bigger than anyone could have predicted. But the flip side is that Rocky Horror wouldn't have been as big a phenomenon without Tim at its center. His Frank was the magnet that the cult formed around.

And I, like so many others, experienced an awakening the first time I saw Rocky Horror on VHS in the early 90s. Rocky Horror was such a blueprint for me because it laid out my burgeoning sexuality in a way my 12-year-old brain could understand: using the tropes of old B-movies.

Louie Pearlman (the nice and alive one) @louiepearlman.com · 27/08/2026
Tim's performance in Rocky Horror was a seismic shift. A cultural big bang. Frank was sexy and confident in a way that captured what a sexually innovative time the 70s were. I know we like to rag on boomer culture but Rocky Horror was something that boomers absolutely got right.

I feel the need to write a bit about Tim Curry before going to bed tonight. I can't speak too much about Tim Curry. From all the remembrances today, I've heard he was an absolutely lovely person, but I didn't know him. However, I knew Dr. Frank N Furter really well.

Did you know Tim Curry had a Hot 100 hit? “I Do The Rock,” from his second album ‘Fearless,’ charted in 1979. The prolific British actor and singer, most famous for his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ passed away yesterday at age 80. 🤍 stereogum.com/2509483/tim-...

Ugggggh. I am all cried out from Dolly yesterday. Rocky Horror is a foundational text for me and has very much been on my mind lately. I have a lot to say about Tim Curry's performance and how it shaped the way I live my life, but for now I just want to say: Rest in Fishnets.
Dr Frank N Furter (Tim Curry) is looking seductively over his shoulder.

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious that's the most important thing pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.

Think about Miss Piggy. She lost a best friend and now an ex-lover in matter of 24 hours.
Miss Piggy and Dolly Parton in fancy dresses posing together photo of Tim Curry surrounded by muppets, smiling for a photo. A quote from curry is added “it didn’t go very well. It didn’t survive the shoot. She felt I wasn’t being faithful to her” it’s him discussing his ill fated affair with miss piggy

I’ll always remember Dolly Parton for the fact that she donated $1 million in 2020 to the research that led to Moderna’s COVID vaccine, as well as millions more for childhood vaccine and cancer research. She was an immensely talented, kind, and giving person.

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

My heart is literally hurting over Dolly Parton, and I keep sitting here and thinking about her and crying. Her genre-defining/genre-breaking work was just the tip of the iceberg. She was a true humanitarian who saw merit in everyone. We will always love you, Dolly.
