I tell myself this every time I have a 12 hour shift. and then I wake up on my day off and think whether I should reconsider

maybe this is the end result of being friends with someone who was there when it started and having it colour my perceptions of the scene. teheperinko

I get that it's probably fine now, but I'm so used to a certain verboten mentioning producers' dariacore/hyperflip aliases that I still unconsciously follow the culture lol. doesn't feel right to me goin "HEY so-and-so I really loved your work as [insert alias here]" there was beauty to the mystery.

updating my graphics drivers and doing a clean install did nothing btw. this has been happening as long as there's been updates beyond 18.1.4 lol. thankfully I have the installer backed up locally so I can roll back!

using the same version of Davinci Resolve (18.1.4) until the day I die because the timecodes on the edit page are cut off at the top for some inexplicable reason and it's driving me crazy as long as I can edit at all, I guess I can't complain lol

screenshot of the timecode on the edit page for the timeline of a video I can't remember, with the very top cut off for some inexplicable reason on Resolve versions above 18.1.4

I'm morally superior to all of you because I don't vaguepost. new random controversy about some famous guy I've never heard of? I read enough about that on the newspaper on my way to work

Novalaxia @lostparliament.neocities.org · 06/10/2026

the game was basically like a time bomb for self-implosion because the devs were apparently coasting on it being unique and decent quality enough in the gacha space to lack any real competition and it's stuff like the drinks that kill people that shows they got really lucky on that front

Novalaxia @lostparliament.neocities.org · 06/10/2026

I unfortunately use Reddit like the morning newspaper and am unfortunately aware that the game basically dipped its reputation by reneging on an update for another male lead in the middle of a massive content drought, which effectively tanked the game's rep among EN-speaking fans lol

The prices of the medication I need to live (to not share too much) have gone up so just as a reminder I have commissions open for sketches and colored sketches from about like 10-30$ depending, basically anything goes just DM me 👍

of course, there has to be stakes to them being involved. the challenge thus becomes "how do we (the characters in this story) avoid their actual involvement for as long as possible before finding a stalemate in the likelihood they DO get involved"

Novalaxia @lostparliament.neocities.org · 06/10/2026

I think action fiction can be fun if there's one major antagonist who is just straight up unbeatable within the confines of your story. you can't kill them, can't talk them down, can't get them to switch sides. best you can hope to do is walk around them like construction work on a pavement

the irony of needing to work to survive is that if I had enough savings to quit my job now and pay my expenses for a year, I could legitimately just make myself a career in that time and go independent. you teach me to fish and I'll send you postcards of my seafood market one day

Novalaxia @lostparliament.neocities.org · 05/10/2026

what's the Reiwa era equivalent question to "is Cutie Honey a magical girl show" and "is Madoka Magica a deconstruction of the mahou shoujo genre" that derails every single conversation on magical girls. surely there's something out there evoking unfathomable pedantry right now

I keep thinking about how Michinaga's actor was like 18-19 when Geats was airing. that's still unreal to me. some of these actors are celebrating their 20th birthday the same year some of these old shows are getting anniversary CSMs

010

Novalaxia @lostparliament.neocities.org · 05/10/2026

really funny (harrowing) to think that any kid who grew up watching any Heisei Kamen Rider show pre-Wizard at this point is now old enough to audition for a show that could air in the next couple of years
