although as far as i can tell the ratio of landmine guys who are just a waste of time to efficiency players is pretty dire in this one compared to other games.... i will continue on my chosen path (raising roy's dogshit childhood friend)

been trying the fe6 translation lately and got curious what people think about the units in this one (she forgot what fire emblem nerds are like)

kind of fucking hate that i stuck my head into the muck about the youtube man for one second and mostly seemed to see "people" complaining that this wasn't made even more messy and public sooner instead of extending basic empathy to the victim what the fuck is wrong with this website

it's rly funny to me that when i got my little gameboy all the posts online said stock firmware was ok but lacked crucial features for most and now i see those features are like, ai text summaries that scroll next to the game art, retroarch settings harder to change, games sort by their metacritic

i think it's very good that someone is trying to make the mmo that doesn't just function as a way to measure how much time you can steal away from your real life but imo we ended up with a less elegant way to accomplish the same thing without bruising anyone's pride, kinda.

i think my hottest xiv 1.0 take is that it's funny to me how gamers reacted so insanely negatively to fatigue as a system and then spent years gassing up yoshida's policy of excessive timegates + "just unsub lol"

alice @lostliddell.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

"is death good" is a moot question, it's like asking if time travel is fun or if the sky tastes sweet. what i don't care for is this idea that there's a small amount of diminishing value in being alive and cherishing the world, and once we run out we're just husks or w/e.

040

alice @lostliddell.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

glt was also nice but i think the sort of personal conversation it wanted to have about death was something i'm less starved for. what i will say is that it's nice to read something from the "maybe it's good that everything ends" crowd expressed in a way that doesn't feel deeply misanthropic to me.

150

alice @lostliddell.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

i think it's very nice to read the works of someone who isn't trying to posture like they're smarter than they are and doesn't have answers but also in a way that makes it clear they understand the questions better than like 100% of insecure aura farmers. also i held my wife and it was good.
