lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 5hAdded to my program an option to include a photosensitivity warning if your shader is intense and needs one. This should make it easy to notify people if your code has any flashing light or triggers. 000
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 11hI ran my ACMXVK shader/filter work through another creative pass, then kept feeding the results back into my own effects. The images started turning into alien architecture, fractal galaxies, and cosmic vortices. 110
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 16hI love video games but I am better at designing and programming lower level systems than making actual games. Ahh who knows maybe some day I'll make something more than just a demo of my game engine. Props to all the game developers I see on here that takes a lot of talent and creativity. 121

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I spent some time this morning working my Parser when I am writing by hand to help me practice. It is the perfect project to work on for this, because it makes me think and have to solve problems. It is on my GitHub although I am not very far along. 020
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I still find it odd to be in my room without my cat. She was always around for a very long time. I know she is no longer suffering so that helps me understand. In the end life is a circle. A part of her lives within me as positive memories. 042
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I think the game overcooked 2 is a fun game to play with a friend. It makes you think, and you need team work to pass each level. It is a different take on a puzzle game that I find quite enjoyable. 000

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 27/09/2026There is a new book on Deep Learning with CUDA coming out near the end of October. I think I might pre-order it, because to me that is something I want to learn more about. 000

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 27/09/2026JSON is pretty cool, I used to avoid it and write my own text formats, but I think it is better to use format that has better support and implementations in multiple languages. 000

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I think Python's main strength is that it is simple to learn and use. Unlike C++ which the syntax can be unforgiving with cascading error messages that can make you scratch your head and think WTF. C++'s main strength is control over memory and speed. Its really not a fair comparison. 000

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Tried my debugger with GPT from OpenAI. It worked good, and the results were better. Now I just need to work on making the information my app gives the AI even better. 100

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Progress on my AI powered debugger, this program is designed to be more of a learning tool, to learn x86_64 assembly and see how it all fits together from a binary disassembly and being able to diagnose a crash and ask it questions about what caused the crash. I think this is good use of AI. 100
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I made a tiny experiment called chat_unix: two AI models pipe their responses into each other like a Unix pipeline. With no shared goal, the conversation drifts, builds its own metaphors, and can end up somewhere completely unexpected. Small code, weird results. lostsidedead.biz/vs 000
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Updated my AI debugger and testing it with my new GPU. It works really good with qwen3. The point of this program is to interactively learn about x86_64 assembly language, where the AI breaks down how the programs disassembly works. You can have it explain step by step, or even ask questions. 100

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026One of the projects I really want to create is a debugger for GLSL shaders, that will let you walk through your shader step by step and 'emulate' it with software so you can find bugs or undesirable behavior. I think this would be a really useful program. I started writing it but only got so far. 000
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Made update to my WebAssembly graphics demo, now you don't have to compile and load each of files at start up. Big improvement, it uses a parallel compile to use a lazy method, to compile just what you are using when you you want to us e it. Now I can focus on my handwritten practice projects. 000
lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I think I have got to a good point with ACMX where I can stop working on it for a while. The windows version now has all features enabled, and on my system runs excellent. I am going to start studying other things and fixing other projects. 020

lostjared @lostjared.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Sometimes it's better to just not try to untangle an old project just to get it to compile for a different platform. When you hit that wall for a single feature it can be appropriate to just implement that feature as an independent tool 010
