Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 06/05/2025Got some fresh basil to make pizza and decided to take one of the two stalks of leaves, clip the end, dunk it in Root Boost powder and leave it in a glass of water. Hey presto, it has already formed a couple of tiny roots overnight! 000

Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 27/02/2025Here's the first regrown leek which is getting pretty big by now (a few weeks after sprouting in water and then planting) -- not sure but this might be ready to harvest. 🌱 0325
Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 27/02/2025Starting to regrow lots of kitchen vegetables now - leeks, green onion, garlic, ginger root and sweet potato. My first regrown leek is looking about ready to harvest for a soup and then start regrowing again. Trying to stretch the budget a bit wherever I can, plus it's fun to grow things. 🌱 2371

Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 12/02/2025Put a garlic clove which had sprouted into water overnight and it developed roots, so trying again on planting garlic! No luck last year. 🌱 6322
Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 11/02/2025Right now it's plant-based plus anti-candida diet so unusually restricted for the next 4 months or so. I repurposed the 2nd "burger" with shirataki noodles and had a pasta dish. This was also tasty ❤️ 100
Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 09/02/2025The tiny moments of joy on a restricted diet - tonight I kludged up a lentil/mushroom/onion burger. Even made a lentil gravy/tomatoey sauce to spread on top. Tasty, plus I still have an extra burger with sauce to enjoy tomorrow. Very happy about this small win. 👍 140
Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 03/02/2025Turns out it is dead easy to regrow a leek. This is 5 days after putting bottom 2 inches (just white part at root end) into water and using rest for leek soup. About to plant outside (and then do same again at harvest.) 🌱 4775

Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Cleared out the dead sweet potato vines today after yesterday's frost, and checked the beds and grow bags a last time - it seems I missed a few. Going to also look up if there are any cautions on reusing the sweet potato soil with other crops. 🌱 2160

Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 02/12/2024Much like the Tithonia flower is actually a whole cluster of flowers, this chaos garden Christmas tree is really about 12 small live pine trees together in a single planter. Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Trying the oven method to cure harvested sweet potatoes- they are in plastic bags with slits cut in the top, and a pan of water for humidity. Attempt is to have them at 80F degrees for two weeks. Supposed to improve sweetness. 🌱 2180

Lorri @lorriberri.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Chaos garden sweet potato grow bag gardening result- using here a 10 gallon grow bag w/flap, left pic shows I filled it to top, middle pic is haul from just that one bag. I found flap shown at right not very useful though for getting out potatoes. 🌱 3400
