Turned the heater on today for the first time in the season, just to check everything and dry out the ducts after AC season. Filter change, etc. Mowed the lawn, gave myself a little haircut, cooked some dogs a salmon dinner. Not a bad Saturday, so far.

After the last power outage, I wanted something for lighting that was softer and easier on the eyes than my camp lanterns, and also takes common, easy to find batteries. Settled on some indoor/outdoor led electric candles. Not too bad.

Because I had no power almost all of the long weekend last weekend, I burned all my mower gas in the generator, so I have to go restock this weekend. On a normal year, that would have been enough to do most all of my fall leaf pickup.

So somehow I had never realized that the 70's animated versions of The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings were not made by the same people, despite being released only a year or so from each other. For some reason I had always assumed they were.
