Update to the update: How is it possible that they can't get water into the rest room? Maybe it's because it's all in the Coke.
Cola is normally a darker brown than this.

Not going to lie, sometimes I love writing headlines.
Centerpiece on Ohio State's matchup with Texas' Arch Manning. Headline: Arch nemesis. Centerpiece on Ryan Day believing that Julian Sayin can still play better. Headline: Sharper image.

I feel like there's something off about the Apple TV blurb on the upcoming Columbus Crew game, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
CUCHO HERNANDEZ? REALLY, APPLE?
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF visit the Columbus Crew on Sunday Night Soccer presented by Continental Tire on September 27 at 7:00 PM ET at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field. Miami’s star-studded lineup also features striker Luis Suárez and midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, while the Crew will look to Cucho Hernández, who recently helped lead Columbus to the U.S. Open Cup Final on October 21. Jake Zivin, Taylor Twellman and Andrew Wiebe will lead the English broadcast, with Sammy Sadovnik, Diego Valeri and Antonella Gonzalez on the Spanish broadcast.

Wondering what the inside of those medical tents on the football sidelines look like? There's surprisingly little to them.
A table in a medical tent. There are lights above. Otherwise, the tent is fairly sparse. It's blue, as it's Kent State's.

No, seriously. Need to find out if Javier from @weratedogs.com is hiring, because Cooper has a stellar resume.

What the actual heck? This may be the first time I have seen both-sides journalism in which the one side is Trump and the "other" side is a Trump spokesperson.

Not picking on the media outlet that posted this today, because plenty of people are wrong about the "Luddites." They didn't see technology as a threat, per se. In fact, given their *actual* emphasis on labor rights, they might have supported technology that improved the safety of workers.
Snippet from an AxIos story: The big picture: History is littered with examples of backlash against a technological or economic threat that ultimately proved futile. We see you, Luddites!

Jackie Robinson, much like Martin Luther King, is often portrayed as an inoffensive teddy bear of a human being, when in reality, he was a lion. His roar echoes today.

Power companies contemplate using [checks notes] ... AI? Yes, I am told that's correct. AI to tailor messages about what they are doing to bring down the cost of your electric bill. Blurb from AxIos news.
We've got to get better in various channels of communications," said Stan Connally, Southern Co.'s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
"AI can help us do that, too. This revolution we're in right now can help us tailor messages in ways we couldn't even think about doing before."

I am glad, but not surprised, to learn that the Capitals recognize Bailey Johnson's professionalism.
Coach Spencer Carbery started this morning’s press conference by acknowledging
@BaileyAJohnson_
, who said she is among the journalists caught up in WaPo’s layoffs yesterday. “I would be remiss not to say something about Bailey not being here today. Getting to know her over the last 2 1/2 years, yeah, I’m just thinking about her. And also know wherever her next stop is, whether it’s in the DC area or somewhere else, know she’ll do a fantastic job. She’s an incredible person and really, really good at what she does.”

Here is what the Bible says in Matthew 5:46-48 about just loving "the people on the inside."
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what are you doing out of the ordinary? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I worked with Bailey at The Dispatch. She is so supremely talented, and she's too good for the Washington Post. I can't wait to see her next chapter.
Text from Washington Capitals beat reporter Bailey Johnson: "I was among the layoffs at @washingtonpost today. It has been an absolute dream to be a small part of this incredible team. Covering the Caps has been an honor; being a beat writer is an all-consuming thing that I love deeply. I hope I'll get to continue that in whatever is next."
