DOGE has announced a total of 45 Social Security field office closures--so far. SSA has 1,200 field offices where people can receive in-person help getting benefits, updating records, enrolling in Medicare & more. They served 30M applicants & beneficiaries in 2023 — nearly 120K *per day*.

The super wealthy want you to be mad about foreign aid because they don't want anyone to focus on the HUGE amount of money we spend on THEM. Trump's 2017 law spends more on tax breaks for just 4 companies (AT&T, Facebook, Verizon and Walmart) than the entire USAid budget.

Los Angeles has used nearly 900 incarcerated individuals as first responders on the ongoing wildfires. They earn ~$10 or less a day. Last November, an anti-slavery measure failed to pass in the California State Legislature, allowing forced labor to continue in CA prisons.

In the last decade, we've seen a monumental rise in app-based work, like Uber, DoorDash, Instacart etc. This type of work is otherwise known as "gig work" and it's time for policymakers to take a closer look at the implications of this type of work on workers' rights and overall equity.
