New paper out in Self & Identity on Appearance-based Rejection Sensitivity in virtual environments. Ps with Appearance-RS showed lower state self-esteem when they imagined having their camera on (vs. off) during a virtual class or work meeting, which was related to less academic and job engagement.

Although not reported in the paper, there was a significant difference across feedback conditions, such that students in the positive feedback condition earned higher final math course grades (M=81.08) than those who received their objective score only (M=78.37), t(593)=1.76, p=.039.

New paper in PSPB on the benefits of giving positive feedback to students, especially from underrepresented groups. Although not the norm in STEM, giving positive feedback boosts self-efficacy and belonging, which increases STEM performance, attitudes, interest journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
