Really excellent watch. I appreciate you touching on how pointless the CommuniCore West demolition was. EPCOT has suffered far, far worse casualties over the years, but that is by far the dumbest thing they have ever done to that park.

New on my Substack tonight! My longest post to date, & as I'm sure you're all even more excited for, my first non-Disney one! This one's all about the highs & lows of owning my Chevy Bolt I got this past June. I promise it is more interesting than it sounds!! open.substack.com/pub/dreamfin...

I feel like the entire attraction is as close to a total narrative failure as you can get. Nobody pays attention to the preshows, and even if you do, it’s so hard to pay attention to a complex narrative while overstimulated on a roller coaster. It definitely needs love whenever it gets redone.

Seeing this queue have constant issues years later is so funny because my instant gut reaction when I walked into Guardians for the first time was “Oh the entire second half of this queue is getting gutted and rebuilt next time they do something to this building”

To my friends who expected me there, I promise this wasn’t a decision that I made lightly. I was up late last night & early this morning trying to crunch numbers to see if I could make a last minute ticket happen but I just don’t have the money. I love you all dearly & will see you next time!!

I hope everyone at RetroMagic this weekend has an absolute blast!! I dearly wanted to attend this year, but life has been kicking my ass lately and I just couldn’t make it happen :( I got to spend my morning today down the street with The General, a small consolation for not being with y’all

I hope everyone had a wonderful time at the RetroMagic Living Seas event tonight! I would’ve loved to come, but I just couldn’t make it work with my finances. Spending tonight thinking about my first RetroWDW event in that same venue eight years ago. Feels like a lifetime ago.

I visited this car so many times at Test Track…mine’s even the same color! Huge thank you to everyone who helped me with raising money for a down payment. It was very difficult to make happen but a lot of time, hunting, and determination made it a reality. I am so happy with it.

Belated congratulations to Disney & GM on the opening of Test Track 3.0! With that being topical I’d like to take the opportunity to show off my new car, it’s a Chevy Bolt EUV! I fell in love with this car at EPCOT years ago, & when my old car bit the dust it was my first choice of replacement.

I love Test Track 2.0 in spite of it being replaced by something great and being disliked by a large portion of the community. Test Track 3.0 soft opened to all guests today, marking a major milestone for EPCOT as its transportation pavilion becomes Future World's first to make it to a fourth incarnation. That said, I want to take one last moment to talk about 2.0, one of EPCOT's most misunderstood attractions (link below)

It looks promising! I’m riding Sunday so I’m trying to dodge what I can, but what I’ve seen looks great. It’s actually topical for me because I’ve spent the last week in car shopping hell, on one hand I think that’s neat but on the other I don’t wanna think about cars anymore 😂😭

On the other site a few people have asked me about direct donations rather than bidding on stuff. I feel weird just taking money, but if anybody feels inclined I have some of these Wonders fun packs to mail out as a thank you! You get all these stickers and more. Shoot me a DM if interested! 💛

Bluesky friends! My car’s engine blew last week (world’s crummiest birthday present) and I unfortunately have no money to take care of that right now. I’m listing some stuff on eBay rn to try and help with costs if any of y’all may be interested in anything. Please check it out! 🫶 ebay.us/m/Fd7Aq7

I know a lot happened in 2020 so it doesn't surprise me that it fell through the cracks, but I feel like we don't talk about the life and swift death of Quibi enough. That had to be at least a top five funniest thing to happen that year

Here’s the details on the Stolen Kingdom art show. Less than a month away! If you still want to submit art, it’s not too late. Looking to have everything by end of the month. If you’re local, come out on April 12, it’s free! See some art and Disney artifacts from Horizons Discovery Island and more!

I have it set up in my bedroom right next to a big flatscreen TV that I never use, yet this little thing is getting used nightly. Idk what it is but there’s something cozy about it, and I don’t really have the greatest amount of nostalgia for CRTs either. Flatscreens took over before I was even 10.

Lorange27 @lorange27.bsky.social · 05/03/2025

Update on little TV! I tracked down an original remote for it on eBay, & once that arrived I was able to get into its service menu and calibrate a few issues with the picture. It’s still not perfect, but it’s working and looking great now!! Been using it for gaming and to watch old animated TV shows

I get that it’s trendy now and people want cheap film but it stuns me that anybody would buy these. You’re paying the same amount to develop a roll whether it’s 36 exposures or 10. Just pay the extra few dollars.

Lorange27 @lorange27.bsky.social · 25/02/2025

It’s so sad how DVD menus and bonus features seem to be something of a lost art now. Especially sad when a Blu-Ray rerelease of the same media has less content than the DVD release

010

Lorange27 @lorange27.bsky.social · 25/02/2025

Yesterday I went to a flea market and bought box sets of King of the Hill and ABC’s Dinosaurs for cheap off some guy purging his DVD collection. First time I’ve bought DVDs in ages. Something is absolutely funky with my brain but it feels more special to watch things on a display from their era.

030

Lorange27 @lorange27.bsky.social · 25/02/2025

Spent the last several years purging my DVD collection to replace them with Blu-Ray/UHD Blu-Ray as applicable, but ever since I got this TV suddenly I want DVDs of stuff mastered in Standard Definition (namely old animated shows that haven’t been remastered) to watch on it. What a world.

It's so surreal being able to say I'm part of a feature film about something I was somehow involved in as a teenager, & that I'm part of the same film as Dave Ensign. My inner kid that spent long hours poring over the Mesa Verde Times when I first discovered EPCOT Center is so happy & so proud.

It is with an overwhelming amount of love in my heart that I can say I saw Stolen Kingdom, & it has truly been worth the wait. It's a lovely look back at the history of WDW urbex leading up to the Buzzy story, which felt like a trip down memory lane for me. Oh, and I am in it!!

It's odd that for the last decade WDW has been focused on making all the parks (save for DAK which they're only now getting to) more like Magic Kingdom, & now Magic Kingdom itself is becoming lesser Sad about the Rivers. Don't think I can say much more than has already been said

I know *this* part is heavily discussed but my life post-COVID just doesn’t feel real. I feel like any day now I should wake up & be right back where I was. I should still be 16. I got off easy compared to my similar aged peers, but it feels like a chunk of my adolescence was just stolen from me.

I still remember walking into Disney Springs like six months later and seeing Jim Carrey’s heavily sunfaded face staring back at me from the wall of posters outside the AMC. Felt like walking into some kind of apocalypse movie.
