Game 3 went about as well as game 2. I did not play great tho. Pretty tired with the late draw. 😓

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Welp. Good news about game 2 was that we got to be the first team in to stack….by a lot. I was pretty decent. So that’s nice.

Game 1 of pool play ended with a W. Got a fortunate pick from the opposing skip to send us from taking 2 and going to a tie breaker to hitting a draw for 3. I was able to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly. Felt good.

Yesssss. I should get in at least two that I want. Hopefully. I wish volunteer hours were taken in to account. I had a ton last season!

Registered for the league lottery and have a bonspiel this weekend. Back like we never left. Can’t wait to be out of breath and throwing heavy. League play starts back up in October with a new fancy Ice Grid.

I don’t care about the red card issue. Will say Trump should get the MLB on the phone to discuss Armando Galarraga. This is a deep cut. Michigan folks may get it without googlng.

Welp, that’s a wrap for The Molly Maguires. Lost to a good team in the B final. Some really good shots from us didn’t go our way on the arena ice. One end got away from us and we battled back. Definitely made them work for it. Lot of fun this weekend.

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 24/05/2026

The Molly Maguires winners in the B Semi. 5 in the 7th sealed it in the grudge rematch from pool play. Back on against another Houston team in about an hour. Also, I won a raffle!

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 24/05/2026

Have a bye in the B quarterfinal. Next game 10 am CST tomorrow. I’m just as shocked as you are with our fourth worst DSC.

020

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

I think a tie would mean we still ended up in the B due to our DSC but we would have had a quarter final bye.

000

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

Lost after we missed a take out by ticking a guard on our last shot. Kyle hit a great draw for the win. A tie would have put us both in the A. Now we wait to see if we are in the B or C. Real fun game.

Another win for TMM, 9-5 after 7. Skipper fell on his shot in the 6th and other skip hit a killer shot to follow. Made it a little more hairy than it needed to be. Need to win our pool to stay in the A because our DSC was not good. Some fun times so far.

Team The Molly Maguires were big winners. Hand shakes after 5. 1-0 in pool play with two tough teams left at the May Open at Lone Star Curling Club in Austin. Good to be back home.

Heading to Austin for the May Open this weekend. Excited to be back on my old ice.

Whatever works my friend. You get that lone star one from me at big spiel or did someone beat me to it? I don’t remember. The hat is a fun talking point when stacking. Mainly why I do it.

Also maybe ditch the Medford one completely. It takes up so much room!

100%. There are some doubles on there and special edition stuff as well. Once it fills will remove some of the doubles (like the Blackhawk) and maybe keep the special edition ones. I have a plan!

Clawed back against a real good team but lost on the last shot. Really made a game out of it with back to back steals and being set up to steal one more time. Real fun game and a nice one to end on. Also won the Derby Exacta and don’t have to be back at 9am. So. Real winner here.

Complete game from us today. Got the win to stay alive. 13-4 after a couple of 5 Enders. Next game tonight. If we win again in the C semis at 9am.

Game two loss. Another game we should have won. Other skip was out so they had a local sub, one of the better 5U skips in the country. Would have been fine if our back end could of got a stone in the house against 5 in the 6th. Unfortunately we did not.

Crooked Billet spiel at Bucks. Lost game one after missing our last two shots in the 8th up one. Was less than ideal but at least we are not in the A.

Let’s. Fucking. Go. Didn’t realize when I picked a college to go to way back when that I’d have to spend so much on championship gear. 6 since I started there. 💸 Number 11.

Last game of the season for me was as a sub. Hit every shot but one, go figure. Ending the season on a win. Potomac Curling Club has been wonderful. A real bright spot through a tough life transition. A few late spring/summer spiels and then no curling until October. Be safe and good curling.

Thursday double header. Lost the first game, it wasn’t close. BUT WE WON MEN’S LEAGUE! Undfeated this half season. Second game of a double header for 3 out of 4 of us. Skipper won it in 8th with a double on his last throw after a steal of two in the 7th. www.youtube.com/live/dzh_tNg...

Monday men’s league semi win. Stole one in last end to win after other skip made a heck of a shot but ended up stuffing. We were not good, especially me, all game. Luckily the only two shots I made were in the last end and my 2nd rock come around was the shot rock.

Thursday night playoff win. We were surprised to find out we made the playoffs and one of our teammates was out of the country. Won as a three person team and were in control the whole way. If my men’s team wins on Monday, I’ll have a double header on Thursday.

11-1 winners in the first round of the playoffs for Monday Men’s league. I did not throw well but was able to impact the game with several really important sweeps. Need two more good ones to win the league and finish undfeated.

Finished regular season in Men’s league undefeated. Gave up 2 in the first and then forced to 1 in the second. Won 11-2 with 10 points off steals. Playoffs start next week with us as top seed. Have to be on point here on out. Have had my best curling the last few weeks, luckily.

Our second Thursday night win in a row. Gelling too late to make a playoff push. Curled well enough from lead. Only scored in 3 ends but those were enough. Steal of two in the last end after other team flashed hammer in a tie game.

022

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

Well. Started game off down 5 after 3. Hard to win after you do that. But anyways, we won 9-6 after a 3 with hammer then two back to back steals of 3. We were all very off the first few ends. I was slightly better than I have been but not as good as last week. More to work on. Still undefeated.

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 06/03/2026

Finally got Thursday league win tonight against a team with about 100 years of curling to our 3 5U and 1 with about 8 years. Played vice & hit some really nice shots. Two in the last end to seal it with peel weight hits through tight ports. Skip chipped shot rock for handshakes.

020

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 03/03/2026

Monday W. Handshakes after 6. Skipper back from Nationals with a 4th place finish but 1st place in our hearts. My best game of the half season so far. Nice to get that monkey off my back. Was in general area every shot but the exact area more often than not. Hope to build off it.

Thursday league has not been going great. But we have been having fun. A lot of fun tonight. Had a guy I played in Fairbanks, who curls out of Anchorage, in at Potomac to spare on our team with his girlfriend. The curling community is really cool.

020

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

Monday dub. We were up pretty big but let them back in it after some uncharacteristic misses. It’s not helpful when the lead (me) shoots like 50%. Luckily skip only had to throw a guard with his first rock in the 8th and then walk down his last after handshakes. On bye next week.

000

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 10/02/2026

He hit two shots like that. The first one was like a rock and a half wide. I was talking with a buddy on the other team and he was like “I wouldn’t even if considered throwing that.”

000

Not Terrible Curling @lookcoolfirst.bsky.social · 10/02/2026

Win in men’s league tonight on skippers last shot. I’m not exaggerating when I say the port he put a 7 second rock though was about a rock and a quarter wide for the hit and stick to win. I didn’t play well, but man…it’s wild playing with someone of that caliber. He’ll be at this US Men’s Nationals.
