Game 1 of pool play ended with a W. Got a fortunate pick from the opposing skip to send us from taking 2 and going to a tie breaker to hitting a draw for 3. I was able to get back into the swing of things pretty quickly. Felt good.

Registered for the league lottery and have a bonspiel this weekend. Back like we never left. Can’t wait to be out of breath and throwing heavy. League play starts back up in October with a new fancy Ice Grid.

Welp, that’s a wrap for The Molly Maguires. Lost to a good team in the B final. Some really good shots from us didn’t go our way on the arena ice. One end got away from us and we battled back. Definitely made them work for it. Lot of fun this weekend.

Another win for TMM, 9-5 after 7. Skipper fell on his shot in the 6th and other skip hit a killer shot to follow. Made it a little more hairy than it needed to be. Need to win our pool to stay in the A because our DSC was not good. Some fun times so far.

Clawed back against a real good team but lost on the last shot. Really made a game out of it with back to back steals and being set up to steal one more time. Real fun game and a nice one to end on. Also won the Derby Exacta and don’t have to be back at 9am. So. Real winner here.

Last game of the season for me was as a sub. Hit every shot but one, go figure. Ending the season on a win. Potomac Curling Club has been wonderful. A real bright spot through a tough life transition. A few late spring/summer spiels and then no curling until October. Be safe and good curling.

Monday men’s league semi win. Stole one in last end to win after other skip made a heck of a shot but ended up stuffing. We were not good, especially me, all game. Luckily the only two shots I made were in the last end and my 2nd rock come around was the shot rock.

Thursday night playoff win. We were surprised to find out we made the playoffs and one of our teammates was out of the country. Won as a three person team and were in control the whole way. If my men’s team wins on Monday, I’ll have a double header on Thursday.

11-1 winners in the first round of the playoffs for Monday Men’s league. I did not throw well but was able to impact the game with several really important sweeps. Need two more good ones to win the league and finish undfeated.

Finished regular season in Men’s league undefeated. Gave up 2 in the first and then forced to 1 in the second. Won 11-2 with 10 points off steals. Playoffs start next week with us as top seed. Have to be on point here on out. Have had my best curling the last few weeks, luckily.

Well. Started game off down 5 after 3. Hard to win after you do that. But anyways, we won 9-6 after a 3 with hammer then two back to back steals of 3. We were all very off the first few ends. I was slightly better than I have been but not as good as last week. More to work on. Still undefeated.

Finally got Thursday league win tonight against a team with about 100 years of curling to our 3 5U and 1 with about 8 years. Played vice & hit some really nice shots. Two in the last end to seal it with peel weight hits through tight ports. Skip chipped shot rock for handshakes.

Monday dub. We were up pretty big but let them back in it after some uncharacteristic misses. It’s not helpful when the lead (me) shoots like 50%. Luckily skip only had to throw a guard with his first rock in the 8th and then walk down his last after handshakes. On bye next week.

Win in men’s league tonight on skippers last shot. I’m not exaggerating when I say the port he put a 7 second rock though was about a rock and a quarter wide for the hit and stick to win. I didn’t play well, but man…it’s wild playing with someone of that caliber. He’ll be at this US Men’s Nationals.

Woof. I was terrible in the second game. We shook after 4. Since we were the late draw and it was still early in it we switched up teams and positions then played a couple of more ends. Got a win in the pick up game and threw very well. Looking forward to building off that.
