Piping Plover at the Tip on Monday! A major rarity at Long Point, but they breed on the Pennsylvanian shore of Lake Erie, 42 km south of here. This one was ringed there as a hatchling last year! @longpointbirds.bsky.social #CanadianBirding

A slow week of migration despite some rather suitable conditions @longpointbirds.bsky.social So still low numbers of expected migrants. However Ovenbird & Yellow Warbler did sneak in to keep us happy.

Quiet the last few days @longpointbirds.bsky.social with poor wind direction for migration. But some classy birds in the nets with Brown Thrasher & Rusty Blackbird both very welcome.

Good morning, Breakwater! We’re setting up our remote research station for the spring season in a -5°C blizzard. Golden Eagle was today’s census highlight. @longpointbirds.bsky.social
