Longden Calling @longdencalling.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Wasn't it Mark Fisher who said, "Only prisoners have time to read, and if you want to engage in a twenty-year long research project funded by the state - or read a new China Miéville novel it's taken him twenty years to write - you will have to kill someone."? 151
Longden Calling @longdencalling.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I have not read it yet but I have bought a copy for my dad's birthday (a tradition over the years, although his fiction has been less prolific in recent). I loved EOMY, and Going Out inspired me to do English at uni. Both very lovely people too. 100

Longden Calling @longdencalling.bsky.social · 23/09/2026When identifying something that's clearly AI masquerading as authentic, don't explain how you know. Ridicule it, for sure. Make sure everyone can see how shit it is. But don't show your workings - leave it to the fuckfaces who push AI to figure out for themselves how to make it less shit. #FuckAI 060

Longden Calling @longdencalling.bsky.social · 17/09/2026The dilapidation is part of the magic for me. Or rather it foregrounds it. I remember seeing some pics of a road closure at Hanmersmith Bridge a while back. The tawdryness of the barriers and piles of dug-up road didn't detract from the otherworldly portal that bridge seems, it just emphasised it. 221
