Is that what they're called? I'm eating one for a low right now

I bought a bag of grandma candy for myself today. (I'm officially available to eat all your Halloween mary janes and chik-o-stiks and root beer barrels and those weird strawberry things.)

The supporters of this are so weird! "I've been using gas for 70 years and I'm fine. It's not harming anyone."

There's a thriving sticker industry to decorate them, especially omnipod 5 which has a flat white surface to work with.

Advance Colorado has proven itself as the most successful wing of the conservative movement in the state. The group placed a drumbeat of conservative proposals in front of Colorado voters in recent years, often winning at the ballot box or forcing concessions from state leaders.

What is Advance Colorado, the conservative group behind a half-dozen big ballot questions in the November election?

They made us gate check our bags. "Do you have medical supplies in your bag?" Do I ever! So half the contents in my suitcase are under the seat in front of me now.

That's so cute! Are the keys permanently attached?

I think this is an avoid social media day. Good luck to everyone staying around.

I've been considering whether I have time to continue my volunteer work now that I have a job. I had landed on staying through the current school year. But it turns out they're cancelling the whole program. "You can't quit. You're fired!" Or something.

Mine says I regularly brush my teeth.

Shaking my fist at autocorrect!

Have as few items that need hand washing as possible. Time yourself washing dishes occasionally so you remember that it doesn't actually take that long.

This. It's still useful to track because number goes up. But where do you report hate crimes when it's the government doing it?

Those texts you're getting about amendment 87 are lies. For most people, it will slightly lower taxes.

Everybody's Baby: The Story of Jessica McClure. I was *convinced* that there were deep holes everywhere that I might fall into.

mollyjade @lonestarplate.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Colorado, anyone telling you amendment 87 or prop NN will raise your taxes (or raise the taxes of the elderly) is lying to you. For most people they'll lower taxes. You probably don't even know anyone rich enough to have their taxes raised.

Why do they take up so much room??

Is this that weird "get your pink back" thing?

mollyjade @lonestarplate.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I've heard it's not recommended to eat the ones for sukkot because they have a ridiculous amount of pesticides to keep them from having blemishes from bugs. But you see them in fancy grocery stores sometime, and they're very tart like a lemon. People make marmalade or pomanders.

That greasy pizza box? Compost. Paper egg cartons? Check. Used coffee filters, paper tea bags, napkins and popsicle sticks? Chuck ‘em all in that green bin under Denver's new compost rules.

I suppose the squirrel is having a rougher morning.

mollyjade @lonestarplate.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It's been a rough morning. Kid is having super bad lows for no discernable reason. Discovered I have a cut which is Not Looking Good. Just got diagnosed with hearing loss. And on the way to the audiologist and while getting an urgent call from the school nurse, a squirrel ran right under my car.

I had "off broadway" in my kid's schedule for months and months and couldn't figure out what it was. There weren't any shows at that time. I eventually deleted it assuming it was some kind of mistake. Apparently Off Broadway is the name of my kid's dentist.

The Garden in a Box is planted, edged, and mulched. (Wood mulch this time because it's under a tree.) I have a few plants I started from seed still to plant. And I need one replacement plant for something that didn't survive summer. I only lost 1 out of 35 plants, so not bad. #nativeplants

Eating dilly stew (with biscuits instead of dumplings) and listening to the rain fall. This whole seasons thing is pretty enjoyable.

If you need to ask for an adjustment due to hardship/low pay, be prepared to be blunt about what you can afford. The person you're talking to may not have ever worked a low paying job.
