#NowPlaying #MusicSky Widemouth - No Gasoline Can’t get enough of this song (and album) at the moment. Another top recommendation from @kev-moose.bsky.social 🙌🏼 Been bugging me what this song reminded me of, then realised it was of one of my own unused songs from 20 yrs ago youtu.be/IioN3dZLaMU?...

My pleasure, Ricky. Got to do what I can to make sure they get heard by as many folk as possible. Glad it’s striking a chord with you. Enjoy! ☺️

#NowPlaying The Great Unknown | The Dead Religion One of 2026’s best debuts. 2nd time through now, this is Americana with a British accent, & gorgeous harmonies throughout. Thanks to the gent that is @lonesomebluejay.bsky.social for organising the record with the band. Highly recommended.

Shame. Sounded like it would be hot on the heels of the first single, at the time too. Most folk from Twitter music corner ventured over here, at some point or another, but lots have gone awol again. It’s definitely not as busy/interactive as peak Twitter. @kev-moose.bsky.social is here though! 🙌🏼😂

Good shout. Tough to pick 9 so went to gateway albums into the genres I love most or that have influenced me.

Brutal! 😂 Still a long way to go on that one and can only see it escalating further. Many opinions about the whole thing in general but not that I could fit into this character limit! 😅 I’d been wondering recently where the SLF album had got to, so it was nice to get some new tracks from you 🔥🙌🏼

Nice! 🔥 I don’t go to many gigs these days but DIIV are a definite next time they’re back in UK. Loving the latest singles too. Will have to keep an eye out for Wishy coming over here. Was listening to the new album today. Not as immediate as the debut but it’ll grow on me around the standout tracks

Wow! That’s a great selection of acts! DIIV are the top dogs live. Unreal 🔥 How were Wishy?

Celebrate BC Friday with a purchase of the outstanding debut album from The Dead Religion. Made up of my brother & other ex-Kontiki Suite bandmates; delivering their perfect blend of Americana, country and blues. Laced with hooks & harmonies. But it now!😅 thedeadreligion.bandcamp.com/album/the-gr...

I can only echo what many others have said already but you are an absolute legend for all the time and effort you’ve dedicated to this. Brought a community together, carried us through lock down, and introduced me to loads of music 🙌🏼 Hats off to you and hope you enjoy your time away from it all 🙌🏼

Thanks very much. Had a lot of fun making it. I do enjoy the freedom of remixing. Almost feels like a free hit with most of the hard work already done for you. Can’t even remember the chords now but, have to admit, I’m always pleasantly surprised at my Rhodes playing on this, as a non-keyboardist 😅

Hill Street Blues was right up there with his best. I’m also partial to the Quantum Leap and A-Team theme tunes too. Great memories. Elderly Parents - did that also star Cagney, or was she Lacey? I forget 😅

#HomeMadeMusic Bit different from me this week. A remix/reworking I did of Down To My Grave by Ironweed (2005) as Audio Suspects, which is a name I used for projects back then (PS2 game music, hip-hop DJing, producing etc) Riding a train to my grave is a fairly final ending! youtu.be/NJ33LdA_2CM?...

I’m getting more “80’s light TV drama theme tune” than musical! 🤗 Nicely put together. Bit of a Bowie vibe at times too. Love it 🙌🏼

#5DebutAlbumsFinal 1. My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything 2. Ride - Nowhere 3. Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted 4. Fleet Foxes - S/T 5. The Stone Roses - S/T No room for compromise with these 5 but still tough to leave out Tricky, The Sundays, JAMC, The La’s, Housemartins, and Wu-Tang.

Aah, too kind. Thank you for saying so. They took me long enough to mix to get them to that stage and even then, I’d still be mixing them now if the rest of the band hadn’t dragged me, kicking and screaming, away from the mixing desk! “Just one more mix! Please!” 😂

Not sure what year my copy is from but it’s a 180g reissue. 95% of it plays and sounds great, but just a few pops here and there so, as it happens and because I’m fussy about these things, I just added the 15th anniversary gold reissue that was on sale at rough trade, to an order I placed today.

Jonny Blue Jay @lonesomebluejay.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I wouldn’t ask my opinion then! 👀😅 To me, it sounds exactly as it needs to sound. Mix-wise for anything I listen to, as long as there’s nothing distracting me away from the song, and the feel & energy is captured on tape, then that’s the mix. That’s what I love most about alternative music.

#NowPlaying #MusicSky Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther Every time I revisit this album, I fall deep, becoming obsessed with it all over again, as it gets its hooks into me! It’ll then be pretty much all I listen to for days, until my wife complains about hearing the same songs all the time😅

Boston Harbor is great. Such a great live band, and there’s some quality/amusing interactions with the audience too. I saw them on the UK leg of this tour too, so, albeit not the actual performance I was at, it’s nice to have a captured recording of it.

No worries, Ricky. Do you want to dm your address or just postcode to me and I’ll pass it on to Ben to see how much postage will be, to see if it’s feasible. The vinyl is £30 for orange or £25 for black.
