My nomination for 10 hour adaptation of beloved children’s book. Wacky adventures mixed with: * long drone tours of Homeward Castle * origin stories * characters breaking 4th wall à la The Office * Rashomon style structure with pov of Beaver Hateman, The One Armed Badger, etc * Songs & dance
The cover to the book: Uncle by J.P. Martin
Featuring Uncle the elephant in a large purple dressing gown and striped pyjama trousers, kicking his left leg in the air while waving a broken alarm clock with an expensive price tag attached.
Behind him sits a monkey in a coat looking through a telescope

You should be fine, as long as you finish with: “and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.”

I don’t know if it’s unlikely but I’ve always thought that there are parallels between Joy Division and The Who - Bass as lead, guitar as rhythm and drums as instrumental ‘colour’. Daltry and Curtis very different though

Purely by chance, I saw them supporting Low and was really impressed by them. To my ears they sound(ed) like New Order with Drum and Bass rather than House rhythms

This was on TV when I was about six. Young James Fox (billed as William) gets hold of a large magnet via dubious means - leading to a snowballing series of misdeeds. He becomes haunted by guilt and by visions of the magnet at the end of his bed getting closer and closer

My Dad took us to a programme of some of the music at (I think) the Royal Festival Hall which featured Ligeti’s Atmospheres - which involved some poking around inside a grand piano IIRC, which I found fascinating

Having never heard an actual Judge Dread record and only imagining how sordid they must be, based on the BBC banning their broadcast, I was very disappointed by how mildly salacious this was
