everything about the jacob geller allegations is deeply upsetting and traumatising, from the details themselves to their being publicised on twitter by third party texts seemingly without any consultation with the victim to the armchair detective posting that followed

We will continue to echo their calls and keep the pressure on the government to support MP Leah Gazan’s Bill C-245, to take action against residential school denialism.

I'm lucky to be in a university that gives a day off for truth and reconciliation day but i feel like it would be even better if it was instituted to give a mandatory day off for the day across Canada as a whole

This is foul. A reader reached out and told me the first google result when you search "kamloops unmarked graves discovery" is residential school denial. I did the search myself, and I found the same thing. The first non-sponsored result is the Fraser Institute's residential school denial.

Google search result for "kamloops unmarked graves discovery" has, as its first non-sponsored post, a publication from the Fraser Institute.

It reads: "No evidence of 'mass graves' or 'genocide' in residential ..."

"Feb 12, 2024 — ... Kamloops narrative are either false or highly exaggerated. No unmarked graves have been discovered at Kamloops or elsewhere-not one. As of ... Read more"

Another screenshot shows the only result before the Fraser Institute result is a sponsored post from Angus Reid, affirming that the Fraser Institute result is the first non-sponsored one.

Screenshot shows the intial response Google provides to the search "kamloops unmarked graves discovery"

All you can see on this first screenshot is the AI overview (barf) and the sponsored result from Angus Reid. However, as the other screenshots show, that Angus Reid result is followed by the first non-sponsored result: residential school denial from the Fraser Institute.
