The second ref sheet for ArtFight - more successful, in my view. I very much wanted to capture the character's mood precisely: the differences between the teenager and the adult; between brashness and insecurity; between the drive for group belonging and striving to stay out of the spotlight.

…but when something feels interminable, overwhelming or outright impossible, I look at the one piece I'm always pleased with ;) And it helps? Cause "What must be done will be done", right? So, I call this one "Luremistem".

The figure, marked by a woven cowl, metallic embossing on the shoulders, and a gleaming helmet-mask, is depicted lit from above and behind.

Behind the figure's head - a white sphere of pure light.

The rest of the background is composed of metal plates that shift their angle as they recede from the central axis of symmetry.

Woke up late - and spent most of the time that remained studying rhythm. Using Kivie as an example, I decided to work through the zones of viewer attention. I'm rather more pleased with the result than the ref-sheet version… yet it feels like there's nothing left to show =\ A little disappointing…

Going through old sketches, I wondered - perhaps they are more successful in their dynamics? Though, of course, Hesar's mood as a #Denlaw character has changed considerably over the course of development) I should try to catch him in the middle of something meaningful…

Afraid I have to ask for some feedback today. Started drawing #Anthro recently for #Denlaw, but my works seem pale and lack presence or energy; body language feels stiff. Pls recommend artists who convey gesture and pose well in their #OC work! If their designs are restrained too, that'd be lovely

It was cold enough today to think of autumn. The last one was very fruitful - yet I have almost nothing to show for it... But the one before, I tried my hand at #Inktober - and there are a couple of sketches I still like. Maybe I should sign up for it again this year?

Just remembered sketching this boy because I saw a couple of tasty watercolours in the feed today) In #TTRPG #Vaesen, every character has a trauma and a dark secret. The first is the moment of glimpsing the hidden side of the setting. The second is the consequence of our own actions :^)

Now - my last #Artfight 2026 attack! By all rights, I had a "non-attacking pact" with those I know F2F - for the festival is for meeting new people, is't it? But brothers are meant to fight. And I couldn't leave attack on Kiv unanswered. So, continuing on synchronisation - a collage around Hesar!

Before I post the next attack, it seems only right to add a little context. For quite a long time now, my brother and I have been working on #Denlaw - a comic about how reticence and idealisation prove more ruinous than any personal conflict.

My second #Artfight attack this year was for BeghartJul's (~BeghartJulcharacters) - the monarch Amalreiks and his knight, Vergilio; their friendship. I called it Endless Sentry. And as you may understand, beneath it lie those human feelings that are born if death breaks closeness, but not the bond.

The lion stands on a stone pedestal, his paws folded over the hilt of a vertically planted claymore. Engraved upon the pedestal is a partially obscured inscription: 'Alma- Impera-'.

Directly at the foot of the statue, leaning against the pedestal sits a second character - the wolf Vergilio. He is clad in a military cloak divided into four paired heraldic fields: pure black and red-and-white. Upon his chest is a red crescent with a teardrop - the same as on the shield lying in the distance.

In Vergilio's hands rests an almost horizontal long spear bearing Amalreiks's personal banner. At his feet lies a sheathed sword, discarded from his belt.

The statue and the character are set upon a white platform in the middle of a shallow stone basin. Behind them, a stream can be seen feeding this open basin.

The background is nearly black; the silhouettes of firs and mountains are barely discernible.

This year the first #Artfight attack was for Lacy, a character belonging to Wolfaartmation (artfight.net/~Wolfaartmat...). I rarely draw anything feminine, so I was deliberately looking outside my comfort zone.

Took part in Artfight again - though this time starting from scratch, for a number of reasons. I pulled off 3 attacks. Usually it was only 2. I know that is not much, but… it seems my processing power is rather limited after all)

Just spent ~3.5 hours looking for familiar faces here - or for something kindred. Simply… something that answers from within. Find nothing close to The Secret of Kells… Yet there are xenobiologists here👍 One cannot be sustained on Scavengers Reign alone) And… Well. No one said it would be easy?

So. The long day draws to its close - and though it is only a mathematical milestone, its sum feels real enough. If I have another quarter of a century, I think I would like to spend it not merely meeting more people - more persons - but holding on to them.
