🚨 Hot off the press! We show that species loss from key habitats (like wetlands) accelerates secondary extinction in regional multi-habitat food webs. Also, we show the importance of common species to regional food web robustness. doi.org/10.1038/s420... #Ecology #FoodWebs #Biodiversity #Metaweb

Inferred patterns of biodiversity for angiosperms across the three diversity facets and the two growth forms (i.e., woody versus herbaceous). Rows from top to bottom
denote species richness (A and B), phylogenetic diversity (C and D), and functional diversity (E and F), respectively. Columns on the left denote the diversity facets of woody
angiosperms (A, C and E), and columns on the right denote the diversity facets of herbaceous angiosperms (B, D and F).

Estimated carbon fluxes for different modes of vegetation adaptation to climatic changes. (A) Land-derived organic carbon burial (Flocb) and (B) silicate weathering (Fsilw) for two slow-adapting vegetation implementations and an immediate adaptation implementation (no eco-evolutionary dynamics).
