New email to Director Bhattacharya to start Labor Day weekend regarding the secret transfer of appropriated funds to the Department of Defense.
Dear Director Bhattacharya:

Nothing screams "radical transparency" like quietly signing an agreement with another agency transferring hundreds of millions of dollars appropriated to NIH that is only publicly disclosed through investigative reporting and only confirmed by a vague statement by you on "X".

As you know, I have been tracking NIH commitments in as close to real time as possible. I am flattered that NIH has mimicked my "funding curves" on the front page of the NIH Reporter website. Apparently, I will need to consider essentially secret interagency transfers in my analysis.

This is another good contribution to your legacy at NIH..."Director Bhattacharya broke new ground and many other things."

Sincerely,

Jeremy M. Berg

Through I circuitous path, I obtained Bill Cassidy's personal email (which he had given out at town hall meeting years ago. I know this reaches him since he had responded to several of my earlier emails. I sent him this on Friday:
Dear Senator Cassidy:

It is hard for me to express how disappointed I am in your decision to support Todd Blanche's nomination for Attorney General. Mr. Blanche has demonstrated his willingness to dramatically corrupt the role of the Department of Justice in our society, to mislead Congress and the American people, and to break laws including the Epstein file release law passed by this Congress.

You have demonstrated that when push comes to shove you are unwilling to stand up for any of the principles that you claim to believe in. I would have thought and hoped you would have learned your lesson from the RFK, Jr. debacle.

I hope whatever you are getting in return is worth it.

Sincerely yours,
