Characters for a Ravenloft Horrors Within oneshot I drew for a friend and me. Audra Leduslācis is an aasimar shadow sorcerer from the high north, of the Sossal people. Inguna Greatcloud (my character) is her retainer, a goliath battlemaster, who earned Audra's respect.

Birthday gifts for two of my friends! The first one is our two characters in the latest unofficial Adventurer's League (which was Spelljammer: Light of Xaryxis). The second one is his two characters from our Dolmenwood campaign (the worm used to be a wizard, RIP).

Sounds super fun, but also really involved (only one story, bracket 3). Just choosing a story to deckbuild around is a difficult task in my mind, since you need a good commander and a lot of my favorite stories center around planeswalkers. By which date do you need the submissions at the latest?

Wow that's so cool! Interestingly they're flying, but not like Skymarchers from the Dusk Legion typically do (with the smoke and all). Probably an art direction hiccup, but maybe Ravnican vampires fly with a kind of magic that can be learned by other kinds of vampires 🤔

Last time, I replied with fanart. This time, I'll show off the art I made of the D&D campaign I ran in the Magic multiverse!

Magic the Gathering card Void ({3}{B}{R} Sorcery. Choose a number. Destroy all artifacts and creatures with mana value equal to that number. I drew her the first time after our session 0 (getting knighted at lvl 3 warranted the full piece with the horse), as well as her close family when discussing backstory with our GM. And gosh, I do love playing characters trying their best to be a force for virtue in a hard violent world.

Syr Addle Wolder of House Harrowmoor (breggle knight): My character! Barely an adult, she idolized the knights of legend, and now she gets to emulate them. When she helped the spirit of one of her knight heroes reunite with his fey lover, he bestowed his bracers and enchanted sword onto her.

Oglom Mushrump (mossling hunter): Former yeastfarmer who wanted to see the wide world. Has bonded with a wild boar called Sugarbeet. Recently upgraded to bark armor when we visited his home town.

Been playing in a Dolmenwood campaign for about a year now! These are our characters! Henrick (human fighter): Mercenary soldier turned adventurer. Got hit with a curse on our first adventure, but it turns out emitting bright light from your eyes is pretty handy when you delve dungeons for a living

To me, it just reads as USAmerican. Depending on your reading background it can feel jarring - I grew up with eurocomics where they don't do it, so every balloon having some bolded words in it does feel a little over-pronounced. But it's a cultural thing, right Anyway, totally fine in moderation.

It's all about preference. I know there are some professional artists who swear by them. And they're much more affordable, so they're good as a starter. Personally, I need to be able to see where I'm drawing, so I would pick one with a screen any day of the week.

Cho'trr'ak/Ferdinand S. Fitzgerald/Fitz (thri-kreen stars druid): Cho'trr'ak was part of a party who found a star map to Spatlantis (space atlantis). However, traps were triggered and only Cho'trr'ak managed to survive. He took name and clothes off of his fallen comrades and continued their search.

Varcian Ruakerym (astral elf artillerist artificer): The spelljammer he served on was taken by a lunar dragon, consigning them to an icy doom in its lair. When Xan appeared, they worked together to escape along with the surviving members of the crew.

The current "AL" season at our LGS is Spelljammer! Xan (githzerai aberrant mind sorcerer): Lost in the Astral Sea for centuries, fated to be adrift forever and forget herself. But Sehanine Moonbow appeared to her and sent her through a portal to Wildspace, to save Varcian from a lunar dragon.

Ayn, Iron Shadow A character I made for a D&D oneshot. They're a hobgoblin assassin rogue/shadow monk, an Iron Shadow. Those are spies and assassins for the hobgoblin armies. They typically wear masks depicting devils, and Ayn's chosen devil is a Spined Devil, known for collecting information.

Ilivarra of House Auvryndar (drow twilight cleric): Daughter of Shyntlara Auvryndar, the matron mother of House Auvryndar in Ched Nassad. When word of Valatar (who had attracted the assassin's guild attention) reached Ched Nassad, Shyntlara dispatched Ilivarra to Waterdeep to keep her cousin safe.

Valatar of House Auvryndar (mark of shadow elf conquest paladin/hexblade warlock): Youngest son of Vlonwelv Auvryndar, the matron mother of House Auvryndar in Undermountain. Years later, when his soft-hearted rescuing of Twiip was discovered, he was cursed and exiled to Waterdeep.

A lot of characters I agree with, but I have not yet seen anyone mention Hekara! She was Ral, Vraska and Kaya's cool Rakdos buddy during WAR. She's more fun than Judith in my opinion 😎 Also Ranna Beleren! Apart from the Jace connection, she's a character from Vrynn, which we still know little about.

Finally, this is what I made for the player's birthday this year (2025). A depiction of Xithrel casting the spell Dark Star using existing card Void! They've replaced even more of their body with Etherium, and integrated in the Pact Weapon is now Luxior, which the party recovered from New Phyrexia.

We are approaching the end of the campaign, so I skipped the rare and did the mythic instead (2025). On New Phyrexia, the party found Darksteel armor, and Qopa has retroffited it to his needs. So when we see Tezzeret in EoE, I'm curious how the issue of an indestructible Planewalker will be handled.

On Innistrad, they met Voldor, a nyxborn sorcerer/cleric with a complicated relationship to Keranos. As this player already got an uncommon card, I just made a rare Voldor card (2020). The portrait was a piece I did for the player's birthday (2021)

The third planeswalker to join them during the War of the Spark was Brogmir (2020)! A young Boros legionnaire (minotaur bard/paladin) who ironically had been lost on Ixalan when he was pulled back to Ravnica with the Interplanar Beacon. He died tragically on Innistrad, quite early in the campaign.
