The Senate version of the BBB now increases new federal employees' pension contribution from 4.4% (was just 0.8% pre-2013) to 14.4% (!!!), OR "only" 9.4% if they agree to be at-will employees who can be fired at any time without cause. Over the five-week NOAA Hazardous Weather Testbed Spring Forecasting Experiment, GSL's MPAS_RRFSA was the highest-rated of all of the deterministic "flagship" models, besting even the HRRR -- which led that evaluation every year since 2016 until this year. I'm excited about where we'll be next year.

Welp, nearly lived out my OKC commuter nightmare of being trapped in traffic while a tornado crossed I-35. Peeled off at the last second and took shelter with 20 others in a women's gas station bathroom. Didn't think my nerves could be more frazzled but here we are. Woo.
