Ciggie Simon says: “feelin tough? gimme a puff!” yes! blow him away with a puff from your healthy lungs! thanks to recent Lockwoodland legislation, all delicious smoke sticks are now required to be sold unbranded, with only a happy, inviting face visible on the packet. #plasticine #poster #psa

Parody PSA poster featuring a packet of cigarettes sculpted out of clay, with a cartoonish smiling face, being held up by the artist’s hand. Text: ‘Remember the rule! Smoking is C[arcinogenic] O[rrible] O[verall bad] L[ikely uncool]’

curiosity costs lives! according to recently fabricated statistics, sudden unexplained feline mortality in Lockwoodland is 473% more likely for households that query the status quo and/or imagine a better way of life. save the cat. stop asking questions. #plasticine #psa #cat

Parody PSA poster featuring a cartoonish clay cat that looks suspiciously like Bagpuss, with a white arrow pointing to it. Text: ‘Curiosity will kill this cat. Don’t risk it. Stay incurious.’

prepare your smile for inspection! here in Lockwoodland, we take our citizens’ happiness very seriously, with suggested (read: mandatory) smile-cracking exercises for anyone deemed at risk of contracting the dreaded “Betty Blues”. REMEMBER: feelings can be fatal. #plasticine #poster #psa

Parody PSA poster featuring a cartoonish clay character having their mouth stretched up in a fixed smile by the artist’s hands. Text: ‘Turn that frown… INSIDE OUT (your real feelings don’t matter)’

objectively very funny that #DoctorWho made such a lot of hoo-ha over their Bad Wolf co-production and Disney deal, with a fresh Season One, a big rebrand shortly after the last big rebrand, and a gigantic flashy new TARDIS... only to have to go off air and find a whole new team after three years.

ON THIS DAY 10 years ago... I was just starting work on the project that would springboard me into the animation industry: 8 x 10" summery stings for E4 and Orangina that I made solo in eight weeks! (I was insane I do not recommend it)

Little Lockwood’s very first discernible character 🥲

My almost-3-year-old’s character doodle — one big head on spindly legs, with dinner plate eyes, spiky hair and an oddly anxious expression.

entering Pictoplasma’s call-out for character-based stickers with this toothy nightmare. @pictoplasma.bsky.social #stickycharacters

A die-cut sticker design of a pink clay face having their mouth forced into a smile by a pair of real hands. Their clay flesh drips and blue veins wrap around their head. Around them are the words ‘Turn that frown INSIDE OUT’.

ok I didn’t expect it to look quite like the picture but COME ON

The reality of the KFC Pickle Burger: one and a half pickles and a sneeze of sauce, in a flat plain bun.

SNAKEDANCE The Mara returns for another crack at snake-based possession, which turns out to be both more comprehensible and yet less daring than Kinda. Tegan gets good stuff though, and Martin Clunes’ telly debut as a petulant space prince is worth the price of admission. 3/5

ARC OF INFINITY Backpackers Colin and Robin might be two of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. Strong start, #DoctorWho! While it’s cool to have a certain Time Lord return for some body-hopping business, it’s all undeniably flimsy. But boy do they run around Amsterdam. 2/5

Peter Davison’s #DoctorWho is never my favourite area to visit, but in returning to him after so long, I do feel ready to give the beige boy another chance. And hey, I’ve never seen The Five Doctors, so that’s something to look forward to... isn’t it?? Season 20, here I come...

Another season from #DoctorWho’s 70s heyday, another very respectible average score of 3/5. I rarely have a bad time with the Doctor and Jo, and it’s lovely to give them more TARDIS trips, even though a few of these don’t quite hit the mark. Onward at last then, to Season 20...

THE TIME MONSTER I love a time-based story, and this brings back the Master for more manical fun, but it really creaks when we get to Atlantis. It ain’t no Dæmons! Instead there are people faking slow-mo, Sgt Benton as a big baby, and the infamous giant glowing budgerigar. ★★

THE MUTANTS Delves into the dying days of colonialism with aplomb for #DoctorWho, but as with most six-parters, it frequently tests your patience too. Also of note: Rick James bafflingly being dealt ‘cockney geezer’, and the acid trip lunacy of the Solonians’ final form. ★★★

THE SEA DEVILS The Master returns! And after becoming far too ubiquitous in Season 8, he now feels much better utilised. While the Sea Devils may look shonky, there’s an atmosphere and intrigue that propels this story, even as it inevitably lags a little in the middle. ★★★★

THE CURSE OF PELADON A delightful sort of Agatha Christie in space, as intergalactic delegates are being targeted one-by-one by a phantom menace. It’s all wobbly sets but the mystery is fun, and subverting the Doctor’s expectations of the Ice Warriors is a clever wrinkle. ★★★
