Actually you don't need to read this, because this sums it up quite nicely
screenshot of my bluesky post linking to this blog post, followed by a repost of Sarah Andersen's comic about "suddenly finding a new obsession" - Sarah's character is looking at a computer screen when she suddenly sees something interesting, her eyes go wide, and in the final panel she is surrounded by frogs, dressed as a frog, with the poster "I love frogs".

Disco Elysium style text box. It reads:

RHETORIC [Heroic: Failure] — Alright, here we go. We're devoting all your available brain cells to coming up with a question about populism. Scratch that, to coming up with the question about populism, the alpha and omega of populism questions, and that question is:

1. (Whisper.) "Is Count Binface the Establishment?"
2. Oh god, that's bad. Surely I can think of something better.

It's a tough time to be in this industry, and I feel the same - everything seems very exhausting. I don't know how to help, but I empathise.

I have no idea, sadly! But Temporal's still at proposal stage technically - it's just far enough along that it's basically all decided - I believe Apple are less keen on implementing unofficial specs

Hiya! I've just had another look and it's not the custom properties any more (a browser restart fixed that) but on localghost.dev?theme=city trying to change the colour of the `[data-theme="city"] .content h1` is not working - I think it might be the data attribute?

I'm not sure if it's because I have a lot of CSS custom properties (not that many in the grand scheme of things) but I'm finding in Firefox Dev Tools changing the values of custom properties doesn't seem to do anything any more. Anyone else?

Yesterday was my last day at Deno. From today, I'll be cheering the talented team on from outside the org. This also means that I'm now considering my next move in the DX/DevRel/Technical marketing space.

The front cover of a very late 90s book, "MAKE YOUR OWN WEBPAGE!

From the Creators of
Internet for Kids!
By Ted Pedersen and Francis Moss". There is an illustration of a beige desktop computer with the words "web page" popping out of it, plus a mouse mat shaped like a wedge of Swiss cheese, and a mouse that looks like the animal. The mouse is saying "from the creators of internet for kids!"
