Darren Millar wants to create a narrative that Plaid Cymru are putting independence ahead of public services and wanting the public to forget the Tories put Brexit separatism before public services.

Neil Kinnock talked about the "impossible resolutions" and "rigid dogma" irrelevant to the real needs of the voters in his 1985 speech to the Lab Pty conference attacking Militant. This ridiculous motion sadly reminds me of this.

In the latest polling in Wales the Tories are flat lining on 12%. Fourth with Plaid Cymru nearly 3 times more popular than Kemi's party. The Tory renaissance is a con trick.

Reform policy is to limit 20mph to "outside schools, hospitals and through residential communities" (quote from their leader) so basically that will see little difference. This whole debate was for social media clickbait.

Reform UK once again talking about non-devolved matters in the Senedd.

Fair enough and I'm not against that. Then Labour in Wales should be arguing for local government reorganisation in Wales alongside devolution down from Cardiff. I have yet to hear that argument. I presume they don't want to upset Labour councillors.

'City regions' are clearly not democratic institutions. Those in the Labour Pty pushing this appear to be scared to come out and clarify what they mean as they realise it fails Tony Benn's definition of democracy - "What power have you got? Where did you get it from?...How do we get rid of you?

Hi Lee, the "regional" entities which Labour say they want to empower in Wales. Do you know what they are? Are they even democratic bodies for which we have direct elections?

Farage said: “I’ve heard all this before, if Britain votes to leave the European Union, Scotland will leave within three years". Maybe Scotland has a problem leaving if the people of Scotland are banned from voting on the issue?

It is remarkable that just months after leaving government these Labour MSs are pointing to failings in education, ALN, etc that apparently now urgently require action!

So the far-right, racist party who claim they are not racist has appointed a woman who was suspended by the Senedd for racism as their deputy.

Not sure how reducing professional teams from 3-4 would be "devastating" for local communities considering the attendances at the Ospreys are so poor they are moving to a smaller ground. As always hyperbole used to describe Wales' and rugby.

Have a read of the report on this in today's Daily Telegraph where the residents extol their love of Donald Trump. Sadly the BBC treats the views of Joe Public as infallible and never pushes back on their statements even when obviously racist.

Same old British far-right following the policies of their fellow traveller Fascist Franco. UKIP, the NF, the BNP were also against devolution.

I see BBC Wales are reporting this meeting in their usual clickbait fashion - going overboard with dark foreboding of Welsh independence.

So in the minds of the crazed far-right you can add the RNLI to the BBC, anti-slavery, anti-fascism, judges, Muslims, gay marriage, Welsh language speakers, abortion, the EU, black history month, pride marches....

On electoral reform and donations Labour have always looked to their own narrow self interest and opposed PR and donation limits. Now they and the country maybe about to pay a heavy price.

The Welsh Tory Party's campaign against the capped hospitality tax, only to be implemented if voted for by a local authority, from 2027 onwards, has been hysterical. According to them the tourism industry is already suffering awfully. Though no evidence is ever produced to back up these claims.

Here's the thing. As sure as night follows day, Reform voting farmers and Reform UK (who think net zero is a con and a waste of money), will soon be call on the Welsh Gov to provide farmers with money to compensate for the impact of man made climate change, which they don't believe is happening.

It's better than many Wales shirts. Certainly better than the last one with the green band around the middle. Not being Adidas is not a reason to not like it. Perhaps there's a bit of a herd mentality in many of the criticisms.

It's certainly not the worst kit we've had. Much of the reaction is snobbery that it's not produced by a big name in kit making. I predict this will be a cult classic in the future.

Too old to buy it and have no strong opinions on it. However, the attacks on the shirt on social media from it not being produced by a well known brand are simply shallow, while those having no clue that the patterns are related to Welsh culture are a sad reflection on their own ignorance.

With regards to the Corporate Joint Committees in Wales who appear to be calling for more powers I would ask the same question that Tony Benn asked "To whom are you accountable? And how can we get rid of you?".

Yet after this farce and the Tories finishing 5th behind a bunch of neo-Nazis in the Manchester mayoral election the gushing press will continue to tell us that Kemi is a political genius who is doing ever so well.

Llyn @llyn666.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
Coming 5th, behind a bunch of neo-Nazi racists is disastrous. Seems to me that this should be the big take away from the Manchester vote. However, it won't be as much of the press in this country are Tories who spin the party line that Kemi is doing ever so well.

Problem for Labour if they want to by pass the Welsh Gov/Senedd with their devolution is where would they devolve to? The LAs in Wales are tiny. Ken Skates indicates devolving to the regions such as the Cardiff Capital Region but that's devolving to an unelected body for which nobody is elected!

Utterly crazy. What other City in the UK, let alone a City as small as Newport would it be seen normal to travel from the west of the city to the centre by driving a mile or so or even less on a motorway.

So Wales is banned from having a bank holiday on St David's Day (multiple Welsh Govs have been refused this on multiple occasions by the UK Gov) yet, it has no choice but to have a bank holiday at a couple of days notice if England win a football tournament? #colony

So we can have a bank holiday in Wales, with just days notice, if England win the World Cup but Wales is banned from having a bank holiday on St Davids Day? Also, does anyone seriously believe that we would be given a bank holiday if any Welsh team won the World Cup?

Reform MS Iain McIntosh wrote: “I have ... asked the First Minister “Following recent reports of Union Flags being removed in Wales and calls to replace the name “Wales”, will the First Minister condemn such actions....”. So he wants the FM to condemn the removal of flags that were raised illegally.

I have no problem with Eng winning the WC per se. The issues I have is the wall to wall coverage; the fact that if they won we would hear about it for the rest of our lives and yes I resent being told that I must 'support' England and if I don't I'm some sort of racist/bigot.

They would say that wouldn't they - this from a branch led by Llŷr Powell, a friend and ex colleague of the last Reform UK leader in Wales Nathan Gill, who is currently languishing in jail convicted of being a Russian agent.

Owain Clatworthy, of Restore described a “growing culture of intimidation, political abuse and hostility towards people who hold different views”. This from a party who seemingly have no problem with racist violence, pogroms in Northern Ireland and who want to throw millions out of this country.

Closing some junctions around Newport at times makes a load of sense. Insane there are 5 junctions for a place which was a town until a few years ago. Many use the M4 there to drive a couple of miles.

That it reminds me of the communist's 'social fascism' theory - social democracy was simply a moderate form of fascism. It split the left in the early 30s and the far-right took power. The next election is how to stop Reform. For most the vehicle for doing that will not be the Greens.

Llyn @llyn666.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
The next election in England will be between Reform and Labour in the vast majority of seats. If you want to split the left vote fine. But be honest with the voters - that way leads to a far-right, Reform UK government.

Llyn @llyn666.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
The Greens are nowhere in Makerfield. You will be convinced come Friday. Living in Wales we had months of Green supporters saying they'd get 10 maybe 15 seats in the Senedd. They got 2!

Llyn @llyn666.bsky.social · 15/06/2026
Greens have zero chance. Voting Green will give a voter a sugar rush and but helps the overtime fascists as you call them.

Good. Leave the flag waving obsession with the far-right and right and refuse to get pulled into the culture war which Darren Millar was obviously hoping to start by asking this trivial question.
000
Llyn @llyn666.bsky.social · 28/05/2026
If you are talking about Restore and Reform shouldn't the question read, "Who do Britons think is the main party of the far-right in the UK today".

Read what this racist says and believes and remember that there are Muslim MSs and I'm sure Muslims working at the Senedd. They have to work alongside and possibly work with this extremist.
