Thinking back, it *may* have opened a new tab ... so possibly more a case of poor wording than anything else. But even if that were the case, they could have indicated in the link that it will open in new window without requiring that alert dialog.

I clicked on a link while updating some details on PSN web site. A link. You know, a link, right? It gave me this alert. Um ... that's kinda the point of a link, my dudes.
The dialog says "You will go to another page" with a Cancel and Continue button

Love it. And rather apt that the example you use where something is failed incorrectly was one of those I used in one of my quiz posts because EVERYONE was getting that wrong … until they didn’t.

Not a posh restaurant, but still. A fail nonetheless.

Not long after, the waiters indicated through mime that we were doing it wrong. The colander/hot plate thing was getting very burned due to the fact that the mystery meat was, in fact, something like lard and should be used first to grease up the hot plate thing. And my wife had eaten it.

At an outdoor Korean BBQ in rural Thailand. They spoke not a jot of English, us minimal Thai/Korean. Mime/gestures were order of day. There was a hot plate like an upturned colander. We started placing meat on it to cook. My wife tried one mystery meat but was not good. She persevered.

I got grumpy about it, so I built a single purpose browser extension that does this, and only this: underlines links. 👉 Link Underliner a11y-tools.com/extensions/#... Minimal options on this that let you apply to all links, just those inside <main> element, or OFF.

"Underline your links, you psychopath ". I may have imagined this, but I could SWEAR this was a comment from Adrian Roselli. Whatever, I agree. Anyway, it seems like the psychopaths have the upper hand - too many links out there without underlines to this day.
Screenshot of a "Link Underliner" browser extension settings popup, showing an "Underline scope" option set with "Apply to all links" selected, plus alternatives to underline only main-content links or leave underlines unforced, over a dark-themed webpage in the background.

In case you’re wondering why that is so funny, go listen to that track. Then, realise they deliberately chose a swear-ridden track for the sole purpose of them bleeping it out. With Road Runner’s beep. There was a lot of beeping going on. Fucking hilarious!

I was at SXSW back in 2003/2004, which is where I first met Matt, and I also met you, Derek. But it’s not a meeting that you would remember, because I fear I was rather drunk at the time. And probably quite boring as a result. 🤪. I say “fear “, but is a dead cert.

Matt spent the last few years doing a bad Elon Musk impersonation and it looks like the board finally had enough. I can only guess that it’s because the money is running out. Boards tolerate a lot so long as the money is flowing. www.404media.co/wordpress-au...

Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg Put on 'Leave of Absence'
Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress, wrote in a company-wide Slack messages on Wednesday, viewed by 404 Media, that board members "conspired" behind his back to vote to put him on leave.

NEWS: Donald Trump’s own nephew, Fred Trump, is publicly calling out his uncle’s lies about 9/11, saying Trump’s claim that he brought a crew of workers to Ground Zero “so offends me that I need to speak out.”
Alt text: Screenshot of a post on X from Fred Trump (@FredTrump_) that reads:

“There are two reports out today that relate to the tragedy of 9/11. I will comment on them today because doing so on the 25th anniversary this Friday would take away from the solemn memories. I try not to comment personally about my uncle, but his claim that he brought a crew of workers to help at the sight so offends me that I need to speak out. He was not building a “big building “ at the time. The only crew he claimed to bring to the site would have been secretarial and accounting employees from Trump Tower I knew many of them, and pretty sure they were not capable physically to help (if they could, I am sure they would try). Regarding the US Steel Building, ironically, the grandfather of a very close friend of mine was one of the original engineers- the bldg was built strong. Second, the brother of a partner of mine was an engineer that was immediately called to perform an inspection. While people were originally concerned, it was eventually cleared for occupancy- not creaking and ready to fall. I hope this brings some truth to that story. The second story will follow. A teeny-weeny bookmarklet update: I have rolled the 1-Click De-Crapulator into the Element Inspector tool. I often found I would use Element Inspector, and then immediately fire up the De-crapulator. So, merging the two seemed the logical thing to do: a11y-tools.com/bookmarklets...

We had to arrange the pallettes to get a more gradual start, then move the first pallettes to the front once used. Building the ramp as we moved along it!

With the additional some other bits of wood I found in my shed and a bit of carefully applied throttle, he managed to get it into the back of the van. It was, to put it bluntly, dodgy as fuck!
000
Lloydi @lloydi.com · 22/08/2026
He said that he had a ramp for it, but with the height of the van, and the short length of ramp, it was an almost 45° angle! And that’s a heavy, 900 CC motorbike to get up there. Thankfully, there were some spare pallets.

After a long time trying, I finally sold my motorbike today. However, let’s just say that I didn’t have high hopes of the buyer actually taking it away without incurring an injury or damaging the bike!
A ramshackle arrangement of pallets and a single ramp that really was not long enough to deal with the incline were used to get the bike in the back of the van
