Reverse engineered the Creality Raptor Pro scanner because I wanted marker less laser scanning. Got it done right when they decided to release a firmware and app update to enable it with a new mode. Turns out my version works 100x better. I've reversed the update so I'll get even better scan.

Doom 3 was fucking excellent. But my most vivid memory is getting home at 2am and banging on the door coz I left my key behind and hearing a startled shriek. My flatmate answered the door white as a sheet. He’d been playing Doom 3 and was in the labs at that point. Utterly engrossed and terrified

I’ve fully reverse engineered the meta USB and AIR connections plus protocols now, got openXR running on macOS native and in wine with a custom client (no ALVR, fully replaces the meta dash). It’s a hugely complex protocol with many layers and IPC between so many things. Will release soon

Reverse engineered the Reality Otter scanner (and Raptor Pro). Not bad for something I've had to learn on the fly. stream from USB -> depth matcher on GPU to get clean depths, then rectify + add colour in to a 0.2mm voxel sized TSDF.. I didn't expect a very good capture but this looks damned good!

3 weeks of hacking and reverse engineering and wiresharking has finally netted me complete access to the Meta Quest Air-Link and USB link. No more ALVR. And! I’ve proved a MacBook can run VR pretty damned well since it has hardware HEVC and H264 encoding. I’ll release sometime after cleanup

Runs in my family too. The thing that made me suddenly stop drinking was getting ADHD medication last year. Night and day difference and now I just don’t feel like ever drinking. Used to be a self-medication thing for me and hugely out of control. Dropped weight pretty quick after stopping too 😓

LOL. Meta engineers made a typo in the Meta Quest headset libs. MetadataHandahakeCapabilities... I now have I think 90% of this reverse engineered now. Got the headset doing auth and pair over USB, and streaming the pose etc, accepting streamed video.

3am and I’ve blown the Meta Quest 3 wide open with reverse engineering to get PCVR link working on MacOS with openxr native and in wine. Full auth and pairing over usb done. Wifi next up. Over 300 different commands to map but should be angle to get away with a subset.

Really depends who you talk to. Aussie pays better money for a lot of jobs so a heap of kiwis bugger off over there and that puts the shits up some people. I work with a pretty large smattering of people (chinese, aussie, italian, nz) so I don’t really get it.
