I suspect the rest of Canada has far more interest in what flows in to BC's ports on ships and out on rail than what BC ourselves sends across the country.

I haven't played WoW since Cataclysm launched, so nearly 15 years? I was still heavily raiding in WoTLK and wandered around at the start of Cataclysm and went nope... Kind of enjoying the novelty of Forever, we'll see how it lasts.

Ah K-12... Advanced Threat Protection flagged a file in SharePoint Online shared inside a Teams Chat Files folder. It was a image.jpg.lnk file with the command 'C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0' That is some Alt-F4 level trolling.

Well that was interesting... I have a doorbell camera and 2 local RCMP just showed up while I was at work. They were looking for previous owner of my house that I bought from her estate over a year ago. Clearly this was a wellness check and someone didn't know she had passed. 🙃

A current manufactured energy crisis which will likely not last more than a few years, long before this pipeline is built and operational. Back to the politicians that only look at a 4 year election cycle.

Just implementing a foundational security controls, like MFA for staff, has been a massive struggle. We have to prioritize and mitigate based on risk; our primary concern is continuation of delivery of education not how that service is delivered.

And make that 2 in one day!
August 26, 2026

To my constituents, friends, and neighbours,

Effective immediately, I am stepping away from the Conservative Party of British Columbia and will sit in the Legislature as an Independent Conservative.

I entered politics to serve the people of Courtenay-Comox and to help build a serious, principled, right-of-centre alternative to David Eby’s NDP government.

That responsibility belongs to every person I represent, whether they voted for me or not. They deserve an MLA who conducts himself honourably, acts with integrity, and is prepared to stand by the values he was elected to carry to Victoria.

The current direction of the Conservative Party of BC under Kerry-Lynne Findlay is no longer something I can support. More fundamentally, I have lost confidence in the judgment, conduct, and ethical standards of her leadership and those she has chosen to surround herself with.

Public office demands integrity. I cannot ask others to meet that standard while remaining silent when I believe my own party’s leadership has fallen short of it. Nor can I reconcile doing so with the commitments I made to the people who sent me to Victoria.

I will continue to fight, as I always have, for responsible government, fiscal discipline, individual freedom, strong public services, and an economy that rewards hard work and opportunity. I will continue to hold David Eby and the NDP, the most destructive government in British Columbia’s history, to account.

My loyalty remains where it has always belonged: with the people that put their trust in me to serve with integrity.

Brennan Day, MLA
Courtenay–Comox

🎶And another one gone, and another one gone....🎶 She was, as I recall, an early BC United defector too.
I’ve made the decision today that I can no longer serve as a member of the BC Conservative Caucus under the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay and I will sit as an Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly.

On July 29, it was reported in the media that during the BC Conservative leadership campaign, Ms. Findlay was alleged to have made serious and unfounded accusations about me, including remarks that called my allegiance to Canada into question. These remarks were disrespectful, hurtful and made me question my place in the BC Conservatives under her leadership. At the time though, I was travelling with family and I attempted to put the matter behind me. I had a brief conversation thereafter with the leader who did not apologize and wanted to focus on what’s ahead of us. I decided to try to move on.

When I recently returned home, I understood the full extent and reach of Ms. Findlay’s comments. I had many friends and individuals from the community reach out to me to say they do not believe these false allegations and were shocked no apology was issued. I realized that these allegations had caused real damage to my reputation and had created serious concern within the community.

Following an exchange with Ms. Findlay and her Chief of Staff earlier this week, I was told an apology and clarification would be issued. To date, no statement has been issued.

I cannot continue to sit in a caucus led by someone who has questioned my loyalty without evidence and, when given the opportunity to correct the record, has failed to do so.

I make my decision with a heavy heart, proud of what we have achieved since I joined the BC Conservatives. Unfortunately, I believe all that progress is now at risk. I firmly believe we need an alternative to the NDP that is trying to grow and not one trying to divide. That is not the direction of the BC Conservatives under Kerry-Lynne Findlay.

I want to thank my BC Conservative colleagues who have been steadfast with me. I consider you …

Reann Gasper resignation
I thought Reann Gasper was doing a great job as our
MLA. While I have had concerns that there were some too far right members of the BC Conservatives, I believed that a new leader would move to the centre right. How wrong I was! To me it was shocking when Kerry Lynn Findlay was chosen as the leader.
I stated to anyone who would listen that her asking MLAs to step down so she could run in their seat was very wrong. Her husband, Brent Chapman, is the MLA for Surrey South. She lives there but apparently did not ask here husband to step down.
A search of Mr. Chapman's name reveals a number of racist and conspiracy statement he made in past and later recanted.
Ms. Findlay should have asked her husband to step down!
I firmly believe that the majority of voters in BC prefer a centre right or centre left party as government. I believe Ms. Findlay represents a huge step to the far right. Some media have portrayed her as "MAGA light." Her choice of interim leader seems to amplify that.
I have always belleved that government should be fiscally conservative but with a heart. Those in our society needing assistance must be given it. I don't see that happening with this leadership.
For that reason I am tendering my resignation as a member of the BC Conservative party and as president of Reann Gasper's riding association.
I am hopeful that a centre right or centre left party will arise to rid us of both far left and far right extremes.

I think part of it is I showed an interest in getting a server setup for him. I grabbed a mini Thinkcenter that was bound for ewaste. He and I loaded Linux, did some configuration and loaded up a minecraft server docker image. But I was more interested in showing him the server than the game.
