At times on the world carousel, #Trump appears afflicted by a kind of brittle willingness to break every status quo within reach.Quite something, when generations of American Foreign Service officers have been educated & trained to believe that South Korea stands on the so-called side of the angels.

Irish Government remains silent on a shameful game - and it’s not against Israel The truth unfortunately is as O’Toole writes that ‘systematic repression of women is much more acceptable than forms of subjugation based on race or ethnicity’. Misogyny is normalised www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026...

Without the military, financial and political back-up from abroad, #Sudan’s war would likely not have taken the course it has, and might not even have been sustainable. Wartime alliances matter and #Iran’s renewed presence is likely to stay an important one.

#sea #ocean
I am often led into the sea, as if by a singing that comes from elsewhere; I swim out to meet that song, finally giving to the water all those things that were never mine to carry. In those moments of full and hauntingly cathartic surrender, when I finally lie back, sky-gaze, salt-touch, fluid-embrace, I meet myself again, as if for the first time.

Old age is a planet to itself where all those minor psychic and physical bumps and scratches are suddenly disinhibited taking on new and suddenly robust lives of their own. Anything that has been ignored or closeted is now lit like a Noir film, shadows looming over the everyday.
