I mean, Zeph is writing his paperwork, so I'm going with the synonym here~

A scene from the next chapter of my story. It reads:

At Zephyr & Co.

Zephyr was sitting at his desk, finishing up some paperwork from the last few days. He heard a knock at the door, which then opened. Mei popped her head around the corner and asked, "Hey Zeph, have you seen Liz anywhere?"

His face twisted in annoyance. "I haven't seen the demon in days." He picked up the stack of paperwork and put it in the correct folder. "I'm sure she's fine, she's been around way longer than us." He looked at the ninja, who seemed a bit worried about their friend.

"It's not like her. She's never been gone this long before." Mei was fretting about.

Never compete in a loudness war with metalheads, you'll find yourself outmatched every time xD W/ @thewhiskeyweeb.bsky.social

Conversation between me and my boyfriend:

Me: there was one time I was playing my guitar when I was living at my dad's, his wife's son was also living there. But, i hear his music (rap). I'm like, well, I know I'm gonna win, turned up my amplifier just a smidge and played music. I didn't hear his music after I was done with the song xD

Whiskey: Hell yeah XD

Me: One thing everyone needs to know about us metalheads, we're very competitive about our loudness xD

Continuing conversation

Whiskey: They don't understand how loud we can get XD

Me: When I play on my amp, I usually have it set to 1, maybe 1.5 max, it goes up to 10 xD

Me: Having the amp set to 2 would get the floor shaking, I'm pretty sure setting it to ten will fucking signal god or something xD

Huh, this feels like it's pretty goddamn relevant right now.

Screenshot of some text from the video game Va-11 Hall-A of two characters, Stella and Jill, talking to each other.

"Stella: When you have so much money, you start thinking you can screw around with the rules.

Stella: All that power makes you think you're above every law there is.

Jill: And this city is what happens when those with money start making the rules."

For context, Mei, Zephyr and Liz are scouting out a building for a heist that they're going to execute.

An excerpt from my story, it reads:

"Mei was also looking around and thought out loud, “Wonder if we can get The Author in on this.” She was a former member of the same Organization that The Author works for and figured he’d have some good places for all his gadgets.
On the main floor, Zeph had noticed at least two cameras and made note of them, one facing the counter, another facing towards the main entrance. He was thinking of bringing in The Author in to help take care of the electronics in the building.
Liz had noticed that the guards upstairs started their rounds every thirty minutes on the dot. Whoever was in charge made sure everyone was as punctual as they could be. She figured it would be best to take them out when they were hidden from sight."
