I posted ALL's opening set from this night back in 2023. You can check that out and see the story about my difficult entry into this show here. ALL - Ogden Theater 1999-12-11 Pennywise was really blowing up around 1999 I recall. I had seen them at the Warped Tour earlier in the summer. Fun live band. They were touring for their new album "Straight Ahead" at this time. Setlist spans their catalog and we got a couple cool Circle Jerks covers. Enjoy. Here's the third out of ten albums of the October 2026 Power to the People Festival. This one stars singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff. I've posted a Nathaniel Rateliff performance before, from the 2025 FarmAid benefit concert. So I won't say much about him this time. At the time of this concert, he hadn't released a new studio album since 2024. So the songs here are from a variety of his albums. Plus, "Standing in the Rain Boys" is an unreleased song at the time of this performance. This album is 33 minutes long. 01 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 02 Tonight No. 2 (Nathaniel Rateliff) 03 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 04 Heartless (Nathaniel Rateliff) 05 South of Here (Nathaniel Rateliff) 06 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 07 Standing in the Rain Boys (Nathaniel Rateliff) 08 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 09 The Future (Nathaniel Rateliff) 10 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 11 And It's Still Alright (Nathaniel Rateliff) 12 talk (Nathaniel Rateliff) 13 Time Stands (Nathaniel Rateliff) https://pixeldrain.com/u/gWR7UErc alternate: https://bestfile.io/en/4SCiAk4cr7DQN0w/file The cover photo is from this exact concert.

Here's the fourth out of ten albums of the October 2026 Power to the People Festival. This one stars Tom Morello. I don't think any musician had more fun at this festival than Morello. He was its main organizer, and took full advantage of that role. He was all over the place, guesting in the sets by others and having lots of guests in this, his set. For instance, he played guitar for the entire Suns of Soundgarden set I posted already, and he'll show up some more in later sets. Morello has had a very interesting and unusual music career. He's probably best known as the lead guitarist for Rage Against the Machine. But he's also been part of the successful groups Audioslave and Prophets of Rage, and has had a solo career in a very different folk rock style. He's also done a lot of collaboration with Bruce Springsteen, including occasionally being a member of his touring band in recent years. On top of all that, he's a very educated guy, having graduated from Harvard University with a degree in political science, and has become a knowledgeable socialist political activist. His political stances have strongly come through most of his music projects. He's been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his role in Rage Against the Machine, and Rolling Stone magazine has listed him at the 18th best guitarist of all time. Here's his Wikipedia entry, if you want to know more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Morello This set was actually billed to "Tom Morello and Friends," because there were special guests on a majority of songs, including some where the guests were the main lead singers. Here's some information about the guests. - Grandson performed a set earlier in the festival, which you can find in Part 1. - Serj Tankian is the lead singer for the band System of a Down. - B-Real is one of the two lead rappers in the band Cypress Hill, which also performer earlier, also in Part 1. - DMC is Darryl McDaniels, one of the two lead rappers in Run-DMC. - Chuck D and Flavor Flav are members of the rap group Public Enemy. Their set will appear later in this festival. Also, Morello, B-Real, and Chuck D were all members of the rock rap supergroup Prophets of Rage. - Scott Ian is the leader of the thrash metal band Anthrax. - Sen Dog is also a member of Cypress Hill, as well as lead vocalist for the nu metal band Powerflo. - Jack Black is a famous actor as well as member of the rock band Tenacious D. He sang for the Black Sabbath tribute band Jack Sabbath in Part 2 of this festival. - Dave Grohl is lead vocalist for the Foo Fighters. Their set will appear later in this festival. The songs here are a mix of songs Morello did for Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and his solo career. Plus, there are occasional covers, such "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith, "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy, and "Rock and Roll All Nite" by Kiss. By the way, for track 7, I couldn't list all the songs in the medley or the song wouldn't play on my computer, due to the folder name plus file name being too long. Here's the full name of that one: "Bombtrack - Know Your Enemy - Bulls on Parade - Guerilla Radio - Sleep Now in the Fire - Bullet in the Head - Cochise." This album is an hour long. 01 Soldier in the Army of Love (Tom Morello) 02 talk (Tom Morello) 03 Date Night (Tom Morello) 04 talk (Tom Morello) 05 Hold the Line (Tom Morello with grandson) 06 talk (Tom Morello) 07 Bombtrack-Know Your Enemy-Bulls on Parade-Guerilla Radio-Cochise [Instrumental] (Tom Morello) 08 talk (Tom Morello) 09 Adjourn It (Tom Morello with Serj Tankian) 11 talk (Tom Morello) 12 Like a Stone (Tom Morello with Serj Tankian) 13 Prophets of Rage (Tom Morello with B‐Real & Chuck D) 14 talk (Tom Morello) 15 It's Tricky (Tom Morello with DMC) 16 talk (Tom Morello) 17 Walk This Way (Tom Morello with Scott Ian, DMC, Chuck D, B-Real, Sen Dog & Jack Black) 18 talk (Tom Morello) 19 Fight the Power (Tom Morello with Flavor Flav, Chuck D, B-Real, Sen Dog & DMC) 20 talk (Tom Morello) 21 Killing in the Name [Instrumental Version] (Tom Morello) 22 Rock and Roll All Nite (Tom Morello with Dave Grohl) https://pixeldrain.com/u/DHAbq7QF alternate: https://bestfile.io/en/6ndDD74Ig2Xvv1W/file The cover photo is from this exact concert.

**_Wonderland (1977)_** You can’t pay a late-night visit to the Burrito King on Sunset and Alvarado anymore — the legendary ultra-cheap Mexican food joint seems to have closed its doors after nearly 60 years. And you can’t hang out with Warren Zevon anymore! The singer-songwriter passed away way back in 2003. But you can still grab a Burrito King combination plate with Warren, thanks to _Wonderland_ , a Dutch documentary that offers an up-close-and-personal snapshot of the LA music scene in the mid-1970s. In addition to Zevon’s greasy hijinks, the doc is packed with priceless moments: a skeptical shopping spree at Frederick’s of Hollywood with Bonnie Raitt, soundcheck chats with Jackson Browne, a romantic walk on the beach with Linda Ronstadt! Plenty of great music, too: Zevon slaying at the Troubadour with “Carmelita,” Linda belting out “Tracks of My Tears” in the studio, Jackson sailing smoothly through “Before the Deluge.” The filmmakers take a somewhat anthropological view, recognizing that though this easygoing country rock sound was peaking at the time, there was perhaps nowhere to go but down. Nothing lasts forever, people — not even Burrito King! 📸 Eve Babitz

Here's the second out of ten albums of the October 2026 Power to the People Festival. It's the first "proper" one, since it contains mp3s of each song instead of just one big file per music act. Actually, this contains two acts, Jack Sabbath and Suns of Soundgarden. I've put them together because their sets are rather short. Both of them also are similar in nature, since they're tribute bands playing songs from just one artist. First is Jack Sabbath. The lead singer of this band is Jack Black, the famous actor. For this concert, they only covered songs by the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. As far as I can tell, this has been their one and only concert, at least so far. They haven't released any recorded music either. Although Black is primarily known as an actor, he's had a long and successful career in music as well. He has an excellent voice, which he's shown off in some movies, like "High Fidelity." He's been part of a rock duo called Tenacious D since 1994. For this apparently one-off performance, all the other musicians he played with were quite young. Looking at video footage of them playing, I'm guessing they're all in their early teens. It's just like a real life version of his movie "School of Rock." The other band members are Roman Morello, son of Tom Morello (who organized the festival), Revel Ian, son of Scott Ian (leader of the thrash metal band Anthrax), Yokoya Soma, and Hugo Weiss. For their last song, "War Pigs," they were joined by Geezer Butler, the original bassist and lyricist for Black Sabbath. The second band here, Suns of Soundgarden, is very similar to the first one, except they're a tribute band for Soundgarden instead of Black Sabbath. (And by the way, I double checked, and their name is "Suns," not "Sons." Perhaps that's a reference to Soundgarden's best known song, "Black Hole Sun.") This also seems to have their their one and only performance, at least so far, and they also haven't released any recorded music. The band consists of Taylor Momsen from the Pretty Reckless on lead vocals, Matt Cameron from Soundgarden and Pearl Jam on drums, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam on guitar, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave also on guitar, and Robbie Mangano on bass. These are a little out of order in terms of the order of the music acts in the festival, but I put them together for the reasons mentioned above. In case you're curious, Jack Sabbath performed before Killer Mike, and Suns of Soundgarden performed before Public Enemy later in the day. This album is 37 minutes long. 01 talk by Tom Morello (Jack Sabbath) 02 Mr. Crowley (Jack Sabbath) 03 talk (Jack Sabbath) 04 The Wizard (Jack Sabbath) 05 talk (Jack Sabbath) 06 War Pigs (Jack Sabbath with Geezer Butler) 07 talk by Tom Morello (Suns of Soundgarden) 08 Loud Love (Suns of Soundgarden) 09 Outshined (Suns of Soundgarden) 10 Spoonman (Suns of Soundgarden) https://pixeldrain.com/u/fLkRzyZR alternate: https://bestfile.io/XWCjDC0uTdq08aw/file The cover image of Jack Sabbath is from this exact concert.

I write this on October 20, 2026. Two weeks ago, on October 3rd, there was a big rock festival designed to get people excited to vote out the Republicans across the United States. It was organized by Tom Morello, former lead guitarist for Rage Against the Machine who has often been part of Bruce Springsteen's back-up band in recent years. In two weeks, on November, 3rd, that election is due to happen. I am hopeful there will be a big blue (Democratic) wave that starts turning the country away from Trump-led insanity. To help with that effort, I am posting this entire festival. Maybe this will help inspire you to vote, since much of the music here has political themes. (And if you're a Republican supporter, please go away, this music blog is not for you. And what the heck is wrong with you, sticking with him after his approval ratings are near historic lows for any modern president? Sheesh!) Anyway, the reason I can post this is because video footage of the entire festival was broadcast for free on YouTube. I haven't seen it shared on any of the music sharing sites I visit though, probably because it's a really big pain in the butt to break it up into songs, or even individual acts. It's over nine hours long, so that's a lot of splitting to do. In fact, it was a bit too much splitting for me. The first three and half hours of the festival consists of eight relatively little known music acts. I listened to all of them, twice. Some were okay, but none of them really grabbed me. So I decided to split the music into individual songs for the last five and half hours of music (with the bigger name acts, like Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, and the Foo Fighters), but not this first three and half hours. For these, I only broke them into the sets of each act. If anyone wants to further split some or all of these sets into individual songs, I would love that. Send that to me and I'll repost this that way. However, I did grab all the set lists for these acts from setlist.fm. So you can follow along with them in the song list below. Probably the best known act of these early acts is Cypress Hill. They sold millions of albums, especially in the 1990s. But they're a rap group, and I'm just not that into most rap, so I didn't feel inspired to split their songs into individual mp3s. Sorry. Many if not all of the music acts here have leftist political songs, sometimes pretty radical. So if you're one of those people still part of the Republican clown car driving off the cliff, and still reading this, the odds are pretty good you will not want to hear this. This album is 3 hours and 29 minutes long. 01 Neighborhood Kids Biddi Bomb Brainwash Third World Problems Kids in the Cages 02 Last Internationale Kick Out the Jams Animals Wanted Man Hard Times 03 State Radio Democracy in Kind CIA Revolutionaries Calling All Crows Cry Out Gang of Thieves Camilo 04 Kneecap Unconquered - with Tom Morello 05 grandson Autonomous Delivery Robot Bury You We Did It!!! Rather than show an image of one of the early acts in favor of all the others, I wanted something that represented the festival as a whole. So this is from the finale, with lots of people on stage, highlighting the large "Power to the People" sign. The text at the top is taken from a poster promoting the concert. I then used the same font when writing the text at the bottom.

A couple of days ago, I posted "Volume 1" in this short series. Here's the second and final album of the Rolling Stones performing ballads / love songs. Like the first volume, this was put together by guest poster Mike Solof. A commenter named Trivial Tony posted this in response to Volume 1, and I'll quote it here since it sums this up nicely: "Something we rarely talk about - the Stones were not known for their ballads but were remarkably good at them, even though they tended to be wearier than the Beatles' declarations of love." Here's another 15 examples of that. This doesn't gather up all of their ballads by any means, but hopefully it gets most or all of the best ones. Pretty much everything here comes from the original studio albums. However, there are two tracks near the end where Mike made special mixes to make the songs more ballad-esque by toning down the drums and other rocking elements. Note that the track numbering continues from Volume 1, at Mike's request, in case you want to put all the songs together for a longer listen. This album is 58 minutes long. 15 Angel in My Heart (Mick Jagger) 16 Ruby Tuesday (Rolling Stones) 17 You Better Move On (Rolling Stones) 18 Love in Vain (Rolling Stones) 19 Back Street Girl (Rolling Stones) 20 As Tears Go By (Rolling Stones) 21 Blinded by Love (Rolling Stones) 22 Play with Fire (Rolling Stones) 23 Blinded by Rainbows (Rolling Stones) 24 Almost Hear You Sigh (Rolling Stones) 25 Wild Horses (Rolling Stones) 26 Dreamy Skies (Rolling Stones) 27 Depending on You [Mike's Mix 2026] (Rolling Stones) 28 Back in Your Life (Rolling Stones) 29 Let It Bleed [Mike's Mix 2026] (Rolling Stones) https://pixeldrain.com/u/Yvvu4UER alternate: https://bestfile.io/en/m0Q8ihx23FzjKrR/file Like Volume 1, the cover shows the Stones when they were young and the top and much more recently at the bottom. And, like the first one, I don't know the sourcing for these. The bottom picture had the colors so washed out that I effectively had to colorize it, even though it already was technically in color.
