Well 2 jars sealed. One EXPLODED in the saucepan. One failed to seal. Husband moved the pan in the 5 minutes between switching hob off and removing the jars 😱🤯🤯🤯😱😱 So I blame him 🤦‍♀️ 🌱 #growyourown #smallholding #theoutpost #homesteadsky #homesteading #peatfree #homegrown #sustainable

Our new damson tree (merryweather) has huge fruit on it. Bigger than our cic plums. Is this normal? Our old damsons were 1/2 this size or less! 🌱 #growyourown #smallholding #theoutpost #homesteadsky #homesteading #peatfree #homegrown #sustainable

Just tested pizza wheel bites… delicious & easier to cook than hundreds of flat tortilla pizzas I’d need for 2 teenagers & hungry husband at dinner time Any other ideas beyond chicken stuffed wraps + salad please? I darent even count the number of out of date tortilla wraps I’ve just discovered

Signed up to a new (to me) service Axle that uses electricity stored in our battery for extreme demand periods where national grid is under pressure. Will be interesting to see how it works. It pays for our Givenergy premium account and pays £1/kWh! 28.6p is peak export tariff… #sustainable

The sqash are happy in the paddock on heavy clay ground… They had chicken much, teeny bit compost and leaf mulch. That combo is really helping them cope with the heat. 🌱 #growyourown #smallholding #theoutpost #homesteadsky #homesteading #peatfree #homegrown #sustainable

I’m sad a lot of my ‘flowers’ are just struggling so much they’re not flowering anymore… I cant justify watering them as I’m prioritising our veggies and while we don’t have hosepipe ban yet they are struggling with supply because of treatment plant capacity not availability of water reserves…
