Photo of my neck in public. I'm wearing a thick paracord collar with a d-ring that has a bright red leash and a bunch of dangling pendents and tech gadgets hanging off of it

Well, folks, it has been a pleasure. I can no longer see any "adult" media anymore.

the unicode consortium gave us this and it was truly brilliant. absolutely marvelous. spanish caption unintentional but it enhances the absurdity.
emoji picker centered on the "disorted face" emoji, which is essentially a fish-eye zoom of the blush emoji.

And for the main visualization, here is a Z-order curve plot of 2026-04-24. Every pixel is a /24. Every cyan block is a /8. If a pixel is grey, the block is not public. Red means one IP in the block was a bot. The DDoS that we self-hosters are witnessing is not only coordinated, it is distributed.
A huge grid of black and grey pixels. A lot of scattered blocks are red, with some tiny points turning orange and even yellow.

look, i'm not going "ahah can't type", but the most hilarious aspect of the bsky outage will remain that they were too busy to notice that someone mistyped "regions" on the status page and left it up there for the last 6 or so hours
Screenshot from status.bsky.app: "We are investigating an incident with services in one of our reginos"

And looking at graphs of sus requests that get blocked, you can clearly see patterns: it's not random noise. Someone out there is scripting DDoS against all of me and my friends' little services, trying to extract all the data they can, no matter the cost
Timeline graph showing requests classified as "fake-browsers" over a night, where you can see troughs every hour on the hour, and then ramp-ups and plateaus at ~1K request per minute, at roughly the same speed all the time.

refurbished mac mini with a smiling face. An error pop up window in front of it says "it seems you have once again forgotten that creativity has no rules !!! would you like to try again free from the pressure of a specific outcome?". The ok button says "oh, yeah, okay"
