I mean I got to try one when I was at Sim Gaming Expo and it ran really well. That said, I've heard so many mixed things. It's... weird. It's REALLY weird. Like, I tried it with AMS2 and it honestly was a solid experience for me with the Dream at least... but... idk.

Like, I'd LIKE to say what you say is true. But 10+ years of support engineering work where I've had to write stuff up like that and witnessing it multiple times in a variety of games I play (such as iRacing) has proven that "preferred" outcome incorrect almost every time...

iRacing should be _real_, imo. But, I don't need the exact physics in my truck sim. I need the systems in place to make me feel like I'm either trucking or road tripping, more than "oh the tire is degrading at exactly x+y" type of stuff. That said, what I really want is more in-car controls >_>

I mean, I do care about things real with my racing sims, of course. _BUT_ that's specific to that genre of game. I want things to feel when I'm in a truck sim. I want both to coexist in different products. That's why I play different games!

I will say the one fault of ATS I _do_ have is that we should have per-car/truck transmission simulation now. ._. If I'm swapping to a car, it should have the shifter pattern match what it is, not a random truck pattern, and if something is automatic, it _should be automatic by default_ then

Having done Mount Washington on iRacing it’s the only reason I want them to do a rally sim. It’s the only modern title that feels similar enough to RBR atm… which is depressing… cause they won’t :( RBR is so good

I will say this: attacking GTA6 on the basis of its art, design, and what’s allowed instead of its horrible business practices and calling it out for what it’s allowed to do vs what we’re “not allowed” to do isn’t as strong of an argument as you think it is. They want to ban it too.

I want to be clear: don't mistake the track shadows that look like they're extending for object shadows. That's terrain self-shadowing. Note that parts of the track closer to the camera are also shadowing themselves, despite the sun being behind the grandstands, where everything should be shadowed

Realistically, shadows should get longer and "occlude" any highlights on the track from the sun, but because there isn't a shadow, reflections remain even if the sun is behind an object (such as the last picture). Spark has shown this being fixed in their engine editor preview shots in a blog vid

Something that's difficult to express why I'm so excited for the Spark renderer in iRacing is that it'll fix one of the biggest rendering issues of the current forward renderer, which is clamped shadows when the sun reaches under 40 degrees~ (ish) altitude from horizon.
