Living in a block of flats, I’m so scared that one of my neighbours might be charging one of these things in here. In the BBC article about this fire it says this: The *government* is aware it can ban these things; rather than just advising ppl not to buy them? www.bbc.com/news/article...
In October, the Department for Business and Trade launched a campaign calling on people to buy only safe electrical products from reputable sellers.

My last cat Betty was only like that for a month - after my mum died and she’d realised sometimes people go away and don’t come back - but it was a loud month. Every bath, every bowel movement, she was howling outside the bathroom door because she couldn’t currently see me.
Extreme close up on the face of a petite black cat with white whiskers. She’s not looking directly at the camera, she’s looking down and to her left (the camera’s right).

My cats’ food bowl has been in the same spot - next to my desk - for 19 years and 6 days since I adopted Betty, and is still in the same place for Biscuit. 2 nights ago, for the 1st time ever, I banged my forehead on the corner of the desk while putting cat food down. Now I have a forehead bruise.
A collage of 2 identical photos of a middle aged white woman’s forehead, you can just see a bit of her brunette hair at the top of the pic, and her purple plastic glasses frames are visible at the bottom. In the copy of the pic on the left, you can just about see that she’s got a very feint red bruise, probably about the size of a 5p piece, on her forehead. In the copy of the pic on the right, a red circle has been drawn around the bruise in case you missed it in the pic on the left.Close up of Biscuit, a ginger cat with a freckled nose, looking at the camera with an adorably curious and alert facial expression. A human left hand is creeping in from the bottom left of the pic, scritching the right side of the cat’s neck. He’s looking directly at the camera, with huge pupils, and his left cornea is scarred so it’s very slightly cloudy all over, and smack bang in the middle of his left cornea is a far more opaque spot of scarring that probably affects his central vision in his left eye quite severely.Betty, a black cat with white whiskers, is poking her head through between two purple curtains; looking like she’s doing an impression of Jack Nicholson’s “here’s Johnny!” line in The Shining.

Listening to Killing In The Name Of, and out of the corner of my eye I see Biscuit (10 year old ginger, pictured) sitting up on the floor, grooming his chest - so his head is bobbing up and down - and I swear he was grooming to the beat of the song, so it looked like he was headbanging.
Close up on the face of a ginger cat. A human right hand is scritching the top left of his head, and his eyes are closed, looking incredibly content.

I learned yesterday that one of the people snogging on the cover of Suede’s debut album is a wheelchair-using lesbian. I picked up that cover hundreds of times to put the CD on as a teenager, and never knew how represented I was by it. Until today, 31.5 years after the album’s release.
The cover of Suede’s self-titled debut album. The word “Suede” appears in yellow at the top of the cover. Below that is a manipulated photo (to make it appear slightly blurry) of the head and shoulders of two shirtless, androgynous, light-skinned people - the one on the left with short mid-brown hair and the one on the right with short dark brown hair - who are snogging; both of them holding the back of the other person’s head with their left hand. The cover image of the androgynous kissing couple was taken from the 1991 book Stolen Glances: Lesbians Take Photographs edited by Tessa Boffin and Jean Fraser. The photograph was taken by Tee Corinne and in its entirety shows a woman kissing an acquaintance in a wheelchair. Corinne had in fact turned down the band's request to use the full shot of the two naked women and insisted they could only use a head and shoulders close-up of the women to protect their identity.
