Wikipedia: Patricia J. "Trish" Duggan is an American glass artist and philanthropist. In 2025, she was appointed to the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts by the second Trump administration. Along with her former husband, Robert Duggan, she is a prominent Scientologist.

It's a 90-minute drive from Tigard but well worth it! Explore the coast and make it a day (or overnight)

Trump says his threat to tariff Canadian aircraft started from a conversation with a wealthy friend
The unprompted remark appeared to be a glimpse into what was behind his threat to tariff Canadian aircraft by 50 per cent back in January

Elon Musk is an incorrigible blowhard. The American electorate is uninformed and bigoted. It's a wash as far as I'm concerned.

Reminds me that Henry Kissinger retained a strong German accent while his younger brother, Walter, did not. Kissinger was around 14 years old when his family moved to the U.S.; Walter was 13 months younger. That Parker could keep up the ruse as long as he did is impressive.

You base your "dishonesty" charge on something Charlie Kirk said and Attiah accurately paraphrased -- and yes, she added a stray single quote mark at the end. Obviously a fireable offense.

If you want your blood to boil (and don't we all?) listen to the latest NYT Opinions, hosted by Michelle Cottle. Jamelle Bouie talks cogently about the Black vernacular origin of "woke," and Cottle says, "You are exactly one of about 20 people who think that’s what the term means." smh

Humdinger is the funniest thing in Paw Patrol -- his evil-doer scenery chewing is hilarious. Marshall, on the other hand, needs to be reined in. How many high-tech fire rigs can he be allowed to destroy? He's the John McCain of rescue pups.

I read somewhere about my LA Times colleagues amassing million-dollar 401Ks after 20-plus years. The only reason I've retired in (relative) comfort is my 401K that's half that after nine years there. I contributed half, and compound interest did the rest. It's not a huge burden to an employer!

They and their colleagues SHOULD be irritated that anytime Trump doesn't get his way, he comes pleading to them like a petulant child. He must be responsible for a good deal of their workload.

Very misleading stats! $130K won't get you far in California today, and many current homeowners bought when houses cost a tiny fraction of today's average. We paid $325K in the '90s for our house. Our Altadena neighbors then (and now) were mixed racially and economically. Affluent? Hardly.

I get a little angry when Dems are blamed for Trump's wins. Voters have agency; when Trump ran for the third time in 2024, they knew (or should have known) what they were getting. The electorate itself has some work to do.

This is a bit simplistic; Stefanik's problem isn't that she's dumb, and Slotkin voted to approve a lot of Trump's bad cabinet picks. But it's the best I could come up with!

When I did a budget round-the-world trip in the late '80s, I learned that Singapore had better telecommunications; the UK's rural areas were as beautiful as our best ones; France and Thailand had better food; and New Zealand was as scenic as CA. Returned with a whole new perspective.
