My top artists for August were definitely influenced by who I saw live. I mean, @guster.bsky.social is a top five mainstay, but Iron & Wine and @carbonleaf.bsky.social have been getting a lot more play time than usual. Coincidentally wearing my Carbon Leaf t-shirt today 😁

Back at work today after a great weekend at our first #ontheocean. Aside from the fantastic immersion into everything #guster 🤩, another high point for me was seeing #ironandwine -- loved his mostly female band! Thanks @guster.bsky.social @brianrosenworcel.bsky.social for an awesome experience!

Saw #toadthewetsprocket last night for the first time since 1997, and they were fantastic! So glad I started prioritizing live music with my favorite bands these last few years. It is such a joyful experience to be in a room full of people singing and dancing along to music you all love 🤗

I've got nine wool hats to block before Christmas, but I am hesitating because every time I block a hat, it grows. These are perfect as is. Any tips for keeping the stitches from stretching out? (P.S. the pom-poms snap on, and I will remove them before blocking.) #knitting 🧶

Ok, one more post before I go back to my Day Job 😁 Last week was Polymer Claycation, and I made some things that I am really very happy with. These are those things. I'll be selling at some local shows over the next month, but what's left will go in the shop. #polymerclay #polkadotcottage 🧶

Lately I like flipping through $2 bins looking for classical music to listen to while I work. I look mostly for baroque period composers, and strictly instrumentals without any choral or solo voice pieces. In the process I seem to have inadvertently started a vintage @nonesuch.com collection 😁
Four albums (by Hayden, Vivaldi, Mozart, and Bach) sit on the floor, propped up in front of a record cabinet full of dozens of other records which only have their spines visible. The four record covers are all similar styles, and have the Nonesuch Records logo on them.

Answer Unclear
Oh, you. No-one can figure you out. Some people love you, some people hate you, some people just don't care. You're hot, but also ugly, but also bland. You're funny, but also serious, but also a kind of weird grey zone. Honestly, keep doing what you're doing. It's pretty cool, in my option. Though a lot of my friends would disagree.

In the blurred background, all of the finished pieces mentioned in the previous photo, except for one pair of earrings. Those are being held on an earring card by me in the foreground. They have been sanded to be exceptionally smooth, and buffed to a nice shine.

Little barrettes, because they seem to be the only thing right now that is stopping me from shaving all of this annoying hair off of my head; a new drilling tool, because the three sizes I made 20 years ago weren't quite sufficient; and a pair of earrings which turned into three pairs 😁. 2/3
In the top row, four pairs of tiny barrettes, all with a "messy stripe" kind of pattern on them in different colors (pink, pastel multi, blue, and green). The next row has three pairs of earrings, with brass ear wires. The dangles are .75-inch circles in the pastel multi stripe design. In the bottom row is a drill bit with a polymer clay handle, in a rainbow-colored kaleidoscopic pattern.

I haven't done much with clay lately, because my work space needed a clean. Finally did that yesterday morning, and then spent literally the rest of the day making a bunch of stuff for ME 😁 1/3

"Remember the Ladies" - Abigail Adams to John Adams on this date in 1776
The highlighted portion says "I desire you would Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If perticuliar care and attention is not paid to the Laidies we are determined to foment a Rebelion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation."

The entire text reads: "Tho we felicitate ourselves, we sympathize with those who are trembling least the Lot of Boston should be theirs. But they cannot be in similar circumstances unless pusilanimity and cowardise should take possession of them. They have time and warning given them to see the Evil and shun it.—I long to hear that you have declared an independancy—and by the way in the new Code of Laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make I desire you would Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If perticuliar care and attention is not paid to the Laidies we are determined to foment a Rebelion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation.

"That your Sex are Naturally Tyrannical is a Truth so thoroughly established as to admit of no dispute, but such of you as wish to be happy willingly give up the harsh title of Master for the more tender and endearing one of Friend. Why then, not put it out of the power of the vicious and the Lawless to use us with cruelty and indignity with impunity. Men of Sense in all Ages abhor those customs which treat us only as the vassals of your Sex. Regard us then as Beings placed by providence under your protection and in immitation of the Supreem Being make use of that power only for our happiness."

I'm working on a spring playlist today, and as usual, I've got the cover and the title picked out before I've finalized the track list. And also as usual, the cover has little to do with the actual musical contents, and the title is a phrase from the lyrics of the first track 😁
