New accepted paper by Leonel Reis, @lisabarnettphd.bsky.social et al. Authors translated the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Water Competence into 🇵🇹 & validated with 120 children Results: ✅ high skill familiarity ✅ strong sequencing ⚠️ lower scores for inexperienced kids. PSPWC is a well-adapted tool.

New study by Natalie Lander from @deakinuniversity.bsky.social 🇦🇺, with colleagues including @lisabarnettphd.bsky.social, who developed a deep learning model to assess motor competence in children. The model reached 83% accuracy & is accessible for practitioners via a user-friendly web platform.

The UV index tells you when the ☀️ is most dangerous. When it indicates 3 & above, you need sun protection. Download the SunSmart Global UV app to protect yourself from overexposure to #UVradiation & lower your risk of skin cancer!
An infographic about the UV index. The top section reads: "The UV index is an indicator of when the sun is most dangerous." Below, it states: "When the UV index is 3 and above, protect yourself from the sun." In the center, there's an illustration of a smartphone screen showing a UV index scale:

Low (UV index 1–2): Green, sun protection not required
Moderate (UV index 3–5): Yellow, sun protection required
High (UV index 6–7): Orange, sun protection required
Very High (UV index 8–10): Red, sun protection required
Extreme (UV index 11+): Purple, sun protection required

A call-to-action in a yellow box reads: "Be aware of the UV index, wherever you are. Download the SunSmart Global UV App," with logos for the App Store and Google Play.

Our study provides evidence for the validity & reliability of the PL-C Quest among boys and girls in UK primary schools. PL-C Quest can be used by practitioners & researchers alike to assess children’s perceived physical literacy to provide measurable impact on practice, programmes, and policy.
