That's fair, and agree, if they were building solar arrays on the rooftop and south side of every building in the facility, on adjacent land, plus other renewable plants and carbon offsets, I'd be somewhat less opposed. The current largest gas plant *in the world* is less than 9GW. 😏

Selling around half a million cars a year seems good 🤷‍♂️. And that's just one company. 25% of new vehicles sold globally are EVs, and over 50% of new sales in China. The demand is there - maybe just not in your own neighborhood. I'd guess about 20% on the road in my in OR are EV.

Magnetic fields? Interesting question. The internet says on average it's the same as gas engine vehicles but there are larger spikes during acceleration and regenerative braking especially in the footwells nearer to the battery - which is beneath the floor. Studies say it's safe. 👇

Support aircraft locate the person, special forces parachute out or land if possible, likely with small vehicles like quads and secure the area and person. Then they get picked up by aircraft. So technically boots on the ground for a short time but not permanent.

Yes, we really dont like the capacitive buttons in the dash of our EV6. Accidentally toggle them all the time without meaning to. The Kia steering wheel has physical switches on each side with up/down/press which work well as well as tactical physical buttons which is good. Telluride:

We got a 2023 EV6 with 3,000 miles on it in 2024 for 20k below msrp! I believe it may have been a lease repossession / return. Pretty much still a brand new car but someone else took the depreciation hit for us. We love it. These were 55K new, fully loaded, for 30K now:

This is exactly what happened in Salt Lake City. 100(!) years ago, There used to be rail for trolleys all over the city. Even a commuter rail up to park city. They were bought out by oil and car industry and dismantled in the 40s.

Right, and i'm just wondering what the effect of extra absorption of sunlight will do as the solar panels - I'm guessing - are less reflective then some of the surfaces they cover. Reflectivity of the earth's surface is part of the equation. Losing Ice, snow, & lake reflectiveness accelerates GW.
