"What you may consider trick plays, it's just a normal offense for us." - Morgan Scalley

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 27/09/2026

Scalley said the offensive line "did a heck of a job" tonight, and shouts out Kelvin Obot for his first start, as well as Keith Olson for being back in the lineup today.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 27/09/2026

Scalley said the team wasn't clean enough and had way too many penalties. Said he talked with players to not make it a "personal battle" with Iowa State being physical through the whistle. Wayshawn Parker said Scalley pulled him aside to help keep things in order.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 27/09/2026

Scalley said Iowa State did more in the "throw game" to start the second half to change things up. They were trying to take advantage of man cover.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 27/09/2026

Scalley said "we needed to face adversity" to help the team, but was really proud of the team for what they did to fight through it all. Shouts out Wayshawn Parker for all he does, not just for his big numbers today. Said he was a big leader on the team today.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 27/09/2026

Morgan Scalley said he knew this would be a "fight" against Iowa State. Said it was a game of "momentum" and got "outplayed" in the second half. Didn't feel like the team was flat, just couldn't make it happen to start the second half.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Welp ... that didn't work for Utah. This looks like a completely different offense this half.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State called for roughing the passer to give Utah some life

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Braden Pegan drops a deep shot down the field. That hurts for Utah. Nothing going their way right now with all the momentum on Iowa State's side.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Why is Daniel Bray taking it out of the end zone? Not a smart move there.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

And just like that, Jaylen Raynor completes a 22-yard TD toss to give Iowa State some life. Crazy turn of events. Utah 24 | Iowa State 17 4Q | 10:48

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

After review and a measuring, Iowa State has picked up the first down. We have entered weird territory.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State picks up 11 yards on 4th & 12, just short of the sticks. But that is under review. We keep everything under review tonight.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wait ... what just happened. Utah picked up a backward pass and took it to the end zone. After a quick review, it was ruled an incomplete pass. Haha that has been the state of this game

END OF 3RD Q: Utah 24 | Iowa State 10 Total: Utah 219 | ISU 246 Passing: Utah 178 | ISU 150 Rushing: Utah 141 | ISU 96

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

And Utah forced to punt. Wayshawn Parker getting pretty upset with the Iowa State defenders hitting him after the play is over. No flags

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Utah's offense not getting much in this second half. Been a weird 3rd quarter

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Utah gets the stop and will get the ball back. No harm, no foul

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Jireh Moe gets the 3-yard sack

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Utah has had about 3 INT opportunities but it hasn't gone their way. The last one by Rabbit Evans is being reviewed. I think he's got it after the video playback.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State doing its best to snap the ball quickly to keep Utah off balance. It's helped and Utah just got called for an illegal substitution.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State's offense doing things. Utah's defense needs to find a stop before this turns

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State with the blitz on Devon Dampier and forces the throwaway and Utah has to punt. Great punt by Orion Phillips.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wayshawn Parker is good at the football ... 'nuff said

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Jaylen Raynor with the QB keeper off the back side for an 8-yard rushing TD. Utah 24 | Iowa State 10 3Q | 8:00

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Lance Holtzclaw almost came away with a pick there. So close.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Not sure where the PI was on Utah there, and Morgan Scalley wants some answers, too.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Dillon Curtis with the tackle on the kick return. But Iowa State called for holding after a good run to the 35-yard line.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State loves their bass in this stadium, but the speaker by the press box rattles like a teenager's car who turns their bass all the way up

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Braden Pegan is the first player since at least 1995 with a receiving TD and a pick in the same game.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wayshawn Parker has 144 all-purpose yards, which is more than Iowa State has total yards. 92 rushing yards 52 receiving yards

And then Wayshawn Parker with a 1-yard rushing TD off the pitch from Devon Dampier. Should have been to Semi, but what do I know 😂 Utah 24 | Iowa State 3 2Q | 1:35

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wayshawn Parker hits the pylon on his run to the end zone, but refs blow it dead at the 3-yard line. Play is under review.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wayshawn Parker is a dirty, dirty man

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Utah's defense holds Iowa State to a made 47-yard FG. Utah 17 | Iowa State 3 2Q | 3:50

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

ISU goes for it after the timeout, but Jireh Moe called for offsides.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Iowa State looking like they'd go for it on 4th & 1 at midfield again, but Jimmy Rogers calls a timeout. Probably a punt after this, but maybe they go with a better play.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Curtis drills a 27-yard FG attempt to build on to Utah's lead. Utah 17 | Iowa State 0 2Q | 10:14

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Scalley looked like he was going to go for it on 4th & 7 deep in the red zone, but likely going for the field goal now. Probably the safe bet here.

Josh Furlong @jfur.ksl.com · 26/09/2026

Wayshawn Parker with the violent run. He's absorbing hits so much better and getting some YAC. He's really developed as a runner lately.
