⚠ PSA to artists and clients on #VGen about a Discord scam going around!! ⚠ a scammer is scraping profiles (both artists and clients) to make fake discord accounts impersonating them, then reaching out to people they've worked with in the past who have their discord info publicly visible

AI-generated artwork is officially not eligible for copyright protection after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the appeal. The court ruled that a work must have a human creator in order to qualify for copyright. (Link: www.reuters.com/legal/govern...)

Absolutely do NOT give your ID or face scan on Discord. It's even worse than expected. Apparently due to people bypassing current systems, they're switching to "persona" which is funded by fucking Peter Thiel.

Updates regarding the tumblr blog of my sonic fanfic/au. Update 1: the blog's name got changed from Hank the Hedgehog to Hank's journey to clarify it being an au, not a take on the current canon. It will have canon elements that I will try maintain to the best of my ability as a writer. 1/3

Please keep putting pressure on PayPal. Stories like this are becoming more and more common. Artists don’t deserve to lose their source of income over payment processors being puritanical/anti-small business.

Alt text version

What's happening: Elon Musk confirmed that X will delete all heuristics from its recommendation system within six weeks. In other words, the familiar logic of likes, replies, and reposts that shaped Twitter for years is about to disappear.

In its place, Grok, the platform's in-house Al model, will read and watch more than one hundred million posts and videos every day to decide what users see. At the same time, X is testing a new interface that keeps users inside the app even when they open external links.

How this hits reality: This marks the first time a major social platform has handed full control of content discovery to an Al model. Engagement farms, trend-hacking accounts, and traditional growth tactics may soon lose their edge. The new winners will be those who write in ways that Grok interprets as engaging, turning social media optimization into a new form of prompt engineering. This shift could reshape influencer strategies, ad targeting, and even political communication in a matter of weeks.

Key takeaway: X did not just change its algorithm; it replaced it with an Al reader. Your reach will soon depend on how fluently you can speak Grok.

HOW TO LET BSKY KNOW THEIR POLICY CHANGES HARM ARTISTS: A GUIDE FOR MOBILE USERS! 🧵 Sending feedback is SUPER easy, and takes just a few clicks! 1. Open the left tab menu, and click that "feedback" button 2. Put your concern in the box. I'll copy paste a script to use! (CONT.)

Screenshot of the leftside menu tab of bluesky. Red lines are used to circle the "feedback" button. This will take you to the support page to submit a comment.

Screenshot of the form to send to bluesky. A script is written in the "concern" section, which is also copy pasted in the replies. The category selected is "product feedback/suggestions", and type of device is "android", because that's what I have. Further instructions are in the replies to this post.

Public PSA. Please repost so this reaches others. Your accounts are at risk. Do NOT respond to DM's that start with "Hi, do you have a minute?" or "Hello, are you busy at the moment?" They're hacked accounts. Do NOT add them on Discord under any circumstance. Report them, they are exploiting. +

A bluesky DM screenshot. Text reads:

Person 1 (hacked account): "Hello, are you busy at the moment? Can I talk to you for a minute."

Person 2 (original poster): "What's up?"

Hacker: "Hey! Just wanted to give you heads up that someone's pretending to be you here on Bluesky, and it's causing some confusion. I’ve got proof to show you so you know what’s really going on."

Person 2 (OP): "Oh, word? Who is it?"

Hacker: "I can’t send you the impersonator’s username or link here because when I search for them, your Bluesky account shows up first. If you don’t mind, please add me on Discord: shieshy0909 and I’ll share everything with you there. It’s easier to explain that way! Thanks a lot!"
