According to the poll cited, 32% of respondents - nearly a full third - APPROVED of the ban, and apparently 10% didn’t care one way or the other. If the sample is truly representative then 42% of my fellow U.S. citizens are scary fucken pieces of work.

I think gazillions of people, whether or not successful, wealthy, wildly popular and famous, etc, are heavily invested in a self-concept of being a chill, apolitical, middle of the road, regular and nice guy,with the aim of being liked and/or loved by everyone.That’s the hill to die on, for them.

Thanks that was a good read but this is the main thing I think make current warnings hard to take on board for average people like me: most of us *personally* knew and knew of MANY people who got VERY sick and maybe some fatalities clearly attributed to Cov-SARS-2 “then” but now it doesn’t seem so.
