Nope, that's it. I managed to get some sleep last night when it was 29°C in my bedroom, but 31 is just too much. I'm sleeping downstairs tonight -don't know what the temp is, but it's considerably cooler than upstairs.

Finally, it's publication day for this fabulous book! I got my copy early at a launch event on Tuesday where Anthony was interviewed about the book and signed copies afterwards. If you're interested in queer history you're bound to find it a good read, and a very informative one. In bookshops now!

The BBC is offering me (via iPlayer) the chance to see its 1978 adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel The Mayor of Casterbridge. Omg, yes please, I'd love to see it again! I absolutely adored it back then, let's hope it's stood the test of time!

I haven't met any "famous" people in recent years, and sometimes I feel a tiny bit left out, but then I remember that in my early 20s, specifically between 1980 and 1982, I met quite a few, simply because I was working in a bookshop a fairly short walk from Bournemouth Pier!
