I got up this morning, on the first day of our functioning solar installation, to discover that solar was providing 1/3 of our energy needs, before the sun had properly risen above the horizon. It feels like a new dawn.

Husband and I discussing Andy Burnham's speech and his interview on the Today programme on R4 this morning. Our opinions are very positive, and summed up by my husband using the words: "He is the spirit of John Smith, come to finish the job he started." That sounds like a great summary of my views.

Back from restaurant celebrating David's 62nd birthday in a pub in the fag end of nowhere. Just leaving explaining why we'd waited a week to celebrate. Said that we couldn't go out last week as we left home the following morning at 7am to get to footie. Turns out her brother is Spurs ST holder too!
