i'm about to embark on a long journey toward a career in architectural consulting... if you have any advice or recommendations, i'd love to hear them. i'm also looking for a typical job opening related to Elixir 🙌

Been getting replies from people frustrated with the same thing. The writing exists. The thinking is serious. The platforms just don't keep it. InsightNest is for the people who care about that. insightnest.xyz #AcademicSky

If you care about epistemics you should care about where serious reasoning lives online. Right now: nowhere permanent. Early access: insightnest.xyz

"Knowledge management" tools are note-taking apps with better marketing. They help you think. They organize your ideas. For you. Nobody else ever sees it. That's not knowledge sharing. That's a private library with a fancy index. insightnest.xyz #PKM #Zettelkasten

Zettelkasten is great for thinking in private. Still no good answer for sharing structured knowledge with people who'd actually use it. That's the gap. insightnest.xyz #PKM #AcademicSky

The publishing industry views Bluesky as some tiny unimportant island out somewhere in a far-off ocean. It's not worthy of their attention like Amazon Algoland or The Republic Of Instagram Influencer Collaborativepost is. What they don't realise is just how much the island's inhabitants love books.

You wrote a 2,000-word answer. 40 people read it. Reddit buried it. The knowledge is gone. Not because it wasn't good. Because the platform didn't care. Building the alternative: insightnest.xyz

The best answers on Reddit, Stack Overflow, Discord - written once, read briefly, then lost forever. We've built a civilizational memory problem out of platforms optimized for today. #PKM

Most niche knowledge lives in Discord scrollback or buried under SEO spam. InsightNest is a bet that small, domain-specific communities deserve real structured Q&A - not another general-purpose forum. Building it in public

Hideo Kojima is not interested in AI-generated art "Art is life. But in 50 years, 100 years, I don’t know. Maybe AI could create art, but while I live, I don’t think I’ll see it. I’m not interested in it" He says it’s up to young people to determine how we use AI (via Washington Post)

NixOS is the only system where I can hand someone a file and they get *my* machine. it's also the only one where a one-line change can eat 12GB of RAM mid-build and take the session with it. both things are true. I keep using it anyway. make of that what you will.

"let it crash" gets quoted like a personality trait. it isn't. it's an admission that you can't enumerate every failure mode, so you stop trying. isolate state per process, supervise, restart clean. the discipline is in the supervision tree, not the crash.

LiveView didn't kill the SPA for me because it's less powerful. It killed it because 80% of what I was building never needed a client-side router, a serialization layer, and a second language. It needed a form that updates. Turns out that's most apps.

built a read gate into InsightNest — you have to spend minimum time reading a Spark (based on word count) before the contribution form unlocks people keep asking if this is intentional it is. that's the product.

Implemented SIWE wallet auth in pure Elixir on OTP 27. Both siwe hex packages use Rustler NIFs that don't compile cleanly on OTP 27. So I wrote secp256k1 recovery + keccak-256 address derivation from scratch. Lesson: when NIF packages are a risk, write it yourself. #Elixir #Web3 #BuildInPublic

The internet’s original sin: you create the value, platforms capture the upside. InsightNest flips this. Contribute to a Spark →earn a stake in the Insight. No ads. No algorithms. Just permanent, co-owned knowledge. Built on Logos. Demo soon. #SlowKnowledge
