Endlessly curious about the stories of our ancestors, often found in a muddy field or looking into the past. Archaeology. Family history. Lifelong learning. Walking. SW coast. Night sky. Nature. My garden. French wine.

Have you read any of @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social Tom Cox’s books? Here’s another chance to win one. I came across his work quite by chance this summer (found his book 1983 when I mistyped 1984!) and have since devoured Notebook, Ring the Hill and 21st Century Yokel. A breath of fresh air!

Having stumbled across your books thanks to my typo (I’d decided to re-read 1984 😂) I’m loving your writing!

Just had a fantastic few days excavating with Time Team at Sutton Hoo! 🏺 Thrilled to uncover new finds, learn from experts, and connect with history beneath Suffolk soil. Grateful, inspired and already counting the days until the next dig! #TimeTeam #SuttonHoo #DigLife

Excavation has begun across the long, linear ditch in the southern end of Trench M at #Durotriges25 Really hoping it's Iron Age 🤞

I’ve been over the county border into Devon this weekend to Hope Cove. A wonderful weekend of sea air, glorious views along the SW coast path, and up to Bolt Tail Iron Age promontory hillfort. There’s a single rampart here that goes right across the headland with an entrance in the middle
